House 7x18 "The Dig" - Discussion and Spoiers

The Wilson thing isn't a rumour, he has talked about if he stays it won't be every episode, and maybe only 6-7. He wants to do Broadway and gets sick of flying back and forth all the time. The writers really have no plan if he leaves, I'm not sure they have plans at all. They should come out and say the 8th season will be the last and some of the actors might just stick around for 13-22 more episodes because the show has been good to them.

I have the feeling the writers just think the show will go on forever.

I LOVED last night's episode! It was CLASSIC House all over again. LOVED 13 being back and she looked BEAUTIFUL (and i never even thought she was attractive before!), loved the thing with the kid at the spud gun contest, loved the mystery behind 13 (i cried when it was revealed, what acting!)....etc. etc. Now if we could only kick Amber Tamblyn in the ass and out the door i'd be blissful!

ETA: Oh and yes, House's promise to 13 at the end was killer. (NO pun intended).

r brother.

And Cameron did as well IIRC back in season 2 (?) - as I said I might not remember correctly but if I do it was one of those hopeless cases where she started to feel for the patient - which of course House called her on, especially in lights of her first marriage. And I *think* she gave the patient an overdose of morphine... or something like that. (But it could also be that she just didn't intervene when he died naturally after fighting with House to continue the treatment.)[/QUOTE]

Yep, Cameron did it too to the unethical researcher they treated in S2. I don't quite recall how she did it either but I think she unlocked the morphine machine or something like that.

And, yeah, Chase killed the African Dictator but that's hardly the same thing at all.

^Well, only two amazing eyes, but that's enough. ;)

Well, yeah.

I sort of like her "lusty" passionate looks she makes from time to times, like when she was adjusting the stirrups on House's straps in one of her early episodes. There's just something about the way Olivia looks that just secretes "lust."

Great episode. I never realized I missed thirteen until she came back. She was amazing this episode.

I came close to giving up on house the last year or so but the last four or five episodes have been great. Here's hoping the writers plan on next season being the last and go out on top! :)

What a fantastic episode.

And now that Thirteen is back, ppleeaassseee get rid of Taub!

But if that's true about RSL, I don't know if I'll bother to watch next season....

I really think the show is losing steam which is a shame because it used to be such a great show and HL is such an impressive actor.

I hate to say this but next season should be the last especially if it gets moved to NBC and quality is lost in the transfer process. From what I understand RSL will be a part of next season but it'll be similar to what 13 did and he'll only be in part of it.

But I think the show needs to get back to its "roots" and just show House being both the worst and the best doctor ever. ;) It's gotten itself far to bogged down in the drama the last couple of seasons.

In general, I'd agree the show is losing steam, but this week's episode was the best they've done in ages, better than most of this season's tries at formula-breaking "event" episodes. So the show's still got some life in it, and having Olivia Wilde back and better than ever is bound to help.

I don't think it could go back to just focusing on patient-of-the-week stories, because they've kind of exhausted all the possibilities there. And it's generally a bad idea to try to revert a show to what it was like in its heyday. It's more likely to come off as a weak imitation than to be able to recapture the same magic.

I do think they need to tone down House's antics - shit like having the DDX in a monster truck while driving around trying to piss Cuddy off. It kinda turns the show into a parody of itself, and makes it REALLY hard to believe a guy like that can keep his job.
