For a woman of 44, I must say, Lisa Edelstein is just gorgeous.
That she is, something that was especially noticeable with that nude side view in bed at the beginning when she and House started going at it. I did wonder if it was a stunt double though.

In the "House's Head" episode (where she did a strip tease) it was her. From what I read Lisa is pretty proud of her body/willing to show it off for the camera. So I doubt in this episode it was a body double.

It's her. I remember her talking about how she hopes Cuddy and House have loads of sex together because Hugh Laurie is so hot.

I hope next time he, and his boys, hopes he gets to cover himself with more than a laptop. I know whenever I've had laptop on my lap, while clothed, I feel like my pants are going to burst into flames.

I was wondering where I saw him before. I figured it was Three's Company or something.

I mainly remember George Wyner from his recurring role on Hill Street Blues.

Yeah, it's about time, but it looked like Olivia Wilde's name was squeezed in at the end.

That's a function of seniority. She and Jacobsen have been with the show for the shortest amount of time, so they get billed below the more senior actors. Although I think Jacobsen was billed above Jesse Spencer, perhaps because Spencer had a reduced role for so long, or perhaps he's taking over Jennifer Morrison's slot because Spencer's contract wasn't renegotiated or something. Credit order is contractually determined, so any change in billing order means a contract change and a salary change (which is why it's rare for newer cast members to get billed above older ones).

IIRC, "main cast members" casted as such get top billing (this would likely go to Laurie, Leonard and Edelstein) everyone else would get "second billing" and be listed alphabetically which would then suck to have a last name starting with a "W."

^That's not a universal practice; it depends on the show. Star Trek: TNG through Enterprise did it that way, but a lot of shows don't. You may be right about its use in this case, though. Epps, Jacobsen, Spencer, Wilde is alphabetical order, just as Epps, Morrison, Spencer was.

But it isn't considered "second billing." Billing order is basically in descending order of salary: first billed is highest-paid, second billed is second-highest, and so on (unless there's a special "With" or "And" or "As ____" credit at the end of the list -- if so, that person gets the second-highest salary, or maybe even an equal salary to the lead actor). Alphabetical order is a form of equal billing -- if a group of actors within the cast have the same salary or status, they can't be listed in descending order, so they're listed alphabetically.

I think that's kind-of what I was going for. Laurie, obviously, is the show's star and gets paid the highest. I'd suspect Edelstein and Leonard are equaly paid and then Epps, Jacobson, Spencer and Wilde are equally paid.

I've often looked at as "Who are the stars?" and "Who are the secondary cast?" And, for the most part, House, Wilson and Cuddy are the lead characters of this show and the Doclings are mostly secondary at this point, so it makes sense Epps, Jacobson, Spencer and Wilde would be at the end of the credits and in that order. Whatever the case, I doubt putting Oliva Wilde at the end of the credits was meant as any slight against her because I'm sure they can't do that.;)

I watched the episode again tonight with my buddy and was more impressed with it the second time around when I was focusing more on the story and not letting the editing/hard cuts bother me. I really liked the way they laid the foundation for House and Cuddy's relationship and it seems like the two could do well. House saying "I love you" to Cuddy at the end I think speaks volumes about how he feels. (He's not likely the type to say those words easily.)

The sub-plot with the "POTW" was okay but I still think the issue with losing their "status" as L1 Trauma Center was overblown as it'd be temporary until the neurosurgeon came back and I doubt they'd shut down the whole hospital and move ICU patients because of it. The hospital just wouldn't take on any more L1 traumas or deal with any cases requiring a neurosurgeon. It's also a bit baffling that their one available neurosurgeon had been "on-the-clock" for a solid week! Is there not something like a "freelance" neurosurgeon they could take on? Borrow one from another hospital? Their entire hospital's status as a L1 Trauma Center hinges on this guy being around for over a week?! Would you want to go under this guy's knife?!

And, as I said, it'd be a "temporary" thing. The hospital would lose its status simply until a neurosurgeon returned to staff then they'd be a L1 Trauma Center again. So, really, it seemed like a minor, temporary, situation that didn't call for all of this urge and urgency and also find it suspect there's no assistant "Dean of Medicine" and that all of this responsibility falls on the hospital director's secretary!

Good episode and I somewhat hopeful of this season, I just want more medical mysteries and less drama/soap opera. I also really hope this isn't the last season because I love this show too much and I really think that while it's not as good as it was in season 3 or 4 it's still one of the better shows on TV.

Since she and Jacobson are the most junior members of the regular cast, the default would be to give them last billing, so it wouldn't be perceived as a slight. On the contrary, it would be a slight to a more senior cast member to be "demoted" below a junior one -- except in a case of alphabetical billing, which represents equal status. (Which is the best explanation for the anomaly of Jacobson being billed before the more senior Spencer. Generally the only time a junior cast member would get billed above senior ones is if they're specifically cast as the new lead, like Ben Browder getting first position in Stargate SG-1's credits.)

Aside from the "big three" (and honestly do remember who comes first, Edelstein or Leonard) it certainly seems alphabetical is the route they're going with the Doclings.

Pretty good episode. As I'm pretty new to the series, I'm not so disappointed with some of the things they did last year--in fact, having watched the show in its entirety over the span of a few months, it's pretty clear to me that the House/Cuddy thing was inevitable.

Anyhoo, the best part of the show was Wilson coming in through the window. I was hysterical. I swear, someone could just put Laurie and Leonard in a room together and film it, and I'd be glued to my seat.

Ditto. But I do really miss the "medical mysteries", seeing House interact with patients and their families, solve puzzles, and a good whiteboard/DDx scene.

But this is still a good show and Laurie, RLS and Lisa make it watchable the most, but with Laurie and RLS in a scene together it's pretty much going to be gold. Re: The episode last season where House was pretending they were a gay couple. Wilson's "proposal" in the restaurant was hilarious.
