I was actually trying to figure out if he was doing Poirot or Clouseau. I'd like it better if it was the former. :) Either way, it was one of the funnier moments.

...next week's "hospital strife" looks interesting. Although, I hope they don't go back to the Vogler well and pull up a clone.

Next week should be nothing like that.
It looks like this is the "Cuddy" episode to go along with the "Wilson" episode they did a while back. This should be the version of the show where Cuddy's the star and House is a supporting character.

That's how I intepreted the trailer too. Looking forward to it.

Decent episode, again the House/Wilson stuff was the most interesting, ramped up by throwing Lucas into the mix who can play the game on their level.
I was okay with Lucas before last night.

Now I hope that Wilson and House break his kneecaps.

I thought he was doing clouseau too.

From context, it was definitely Poirot. The whole "gather the suspects together in the drawing room to confront them" thing was much more a Poirot/Christie trademark than a Clouseau thing. And even though I was out in the kitchen for much of that scene, the persona he adopted seemed distinctly Poirot-esque to me.

I thought Lucas went to far last night.
I had no problem with the animal in the bath prank but pranks that end in injury or a dead TVs not so funny.

Yeah, House could've seriously hurt, or killed, himself with the support brace breaking off.

And the sprinklers going off not only would ruin virtually everything in their apartment, would be a horrendous mess to clean up, but also would likely severly damage everything in the unit below them. Not cool. Hopefully House and Wilson have good insurance.

My favorite episode in a while. I liked all three plotlines, and they all went in different directions than I expected at first. Excellent.

Agree. That guy is a huge dick, but not even a little cool, so there's no balance. Hope his relationship with Cuddy crashes and burns horribly.

As for the detective reference House was going for, the moment he started his schtick with the cast all staged around the conference room, my mother and I both shouted "Poirot!" David Suchet is the man. The only thing that would have made it better was if House actually solved the mystery with some clue that was never shown to the audience.

Good ep.

On reflection, having Lucas be behind these nasty pranks (if you can call just plain tripping a disabled man a "prank" at all) seems out of character. He always seemed like a decent guy before. Having him turn into this seems arbitrary.

It used to be that House was a show about one antisocial, mean, manipulative guy surrounded by more normal people who looked on his antics with disapproval. By the last couple of seasons, it had become a show where House's screwed-up, manipulative nature had become contagious and most of the people around him had sunk to his level to some degree. But now House is getting better and everyone else around him is getting worse. It's like there's some quota of nastiness in the show, and if House gets nicer, everyone around him has to become more jerky.

How did Lucas know that House uses Wilson's bathtub? Well, he is a detective, so I guess that could explain it...

And in case anyone is interested, they've released the teaser for next week's episode: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/02/02/house-cuddy-spoilers-lisa-edelstein/ I think it's sick that Lucas starts doing that in front of the nanny.
If there is only one bathtub its not that hard to figure out also the bar that helps House get out of the bath would have been a big clue.

As someone who lives in an apartment below one that had water damage I can agree that it's a bitch. The walls became loaded with water and it's real hard to avoid the whole place growing fungus everywhere. I had to use a dehumidifier like they use in construction in the end to get the walls dry again.

Hell, I once lived above a place where the sprinklers went off. The building's electricity was wired vertically, and they were briefly concerned I'd have to move out because of the lack of power until they could repair all the water damage on the bottom few floors (which would've been months). Luckily, it either wasn't as bad as it seemed, or there was some alternate route for the wiring, because the next day they told me everything was fixed and I didn't have to worry about finding a new place to live after all.

Loved the episode. I love Wilson and House together. I hate Cuddy and Lucas. I do not get that pairing at all. And Wilson's "You are a benevolent yet diabolical puppet master!" has become my new favorite line.

the writers are making us hate Lucas, he's gonna mess with House and Wilson, being a Jackass just because (just like Tritter and Vogler) he'll eventualy go too far (wouldn't be surprised if he gets the bill and there are lasting reprocussions for the sprinkler prank)
and be written out of the show
