Yeah, I thought that memorial thing looked a bit creepy.

I'm pretty sure that was indeed a Hindu temple, although I can't say for sure since I have never been inside one.

Why did they hold the funeral service inside the cramped space of that mausoleum?

I thought it was a Hindu temple maybe...? Esp. given the shape of the doorway.

Yeah, but it looked like the held the service in the cramped hallway of the mausolleum/temple just to haul his coffin outside to bury it.

Why not just hold the service outside with a lot more space than that hallway?

Excellent episode. I have a feeling that this will be it for House for a while. No way he's going to be able to deal with this.

Wow. i didn't see that coming. Kutner was one of my fave characters. :(

Yeah, only Kutner and Wilson are/were likable. Kutner seemed to be one of the few happy people on the show. What could have been bad enough for him to kill himself? It seemed to come out of the blue.

I believe the funeral was in the temple and the coffin was taken to a crematorium for cremation...hence the smoke at the end. A modern take on a funeral pyre.

Okay, I'm not buying it.

Kutner didn't want to die, evidenced by his efforts to get away from Debbie, the Death Cat. This came *too* out of left field.

Suicide is often like that. You aren't going to have a guy crying at work and dressing in black for a month before hand.

Did anyone mention "Eddie" was Meatloaf's character from The Rocky Horror Picture Show? And Samurai8472, thanks for spoiling T:TSSC. I hadn't seen it yet.

Yes, but in the scene where he is alone with Death Cat, he would have been free, more or less, to show his true emotions. There was no one there to put on a show for.

Would a man on the brink of suicide try as hard to avoid death as he did (by avoiding the cat)?

Huh... another post eaten by the same ectoplasmic omnivore that must be eating half my socks. :p

Anyhow... what bugged me about this episode was partly what made it a good one for me. We still don't know what forced Kutner into so tragic a decision. And I am not so sure we will ever know. But it's often like this in the real life. :(

Infact, Thirteen said as much.

And Kutner has said before in an earlier episode his graplings with suicide.

Maybe they didn't expect the crowd? Most were standing, not enough chairs. Since no one saw it coming, or most didn't, they weren't sure how many friends would show up?

Wasn't he cremated? Or was that something else- all the smoke at the end that they all seemed to be facing?

I don't know much about Hindu temples, but given the squares and plates on the wall... it must have a significance maybe? Any Hindus here?

Maybe it's cultural to have it in the temple...

I didn't realize that the wife was Colleen Camp (I missed the credits except for Meatloaf). She hasn't aged well, has she?

Oh no ....... I finally realized who Eddie is... it's Meatloaf. I had forgotten that from last week. :o

It took me a lot longer than it should have.

This was disappointing to me because we really didn't get to say goodbye to his character, but I suppose that's what they were going for.

It will be interesting to go back and watch the last episode to see if there are any clues.
