Horrible week

Good luck with that. It's too bad you have to wait until after the holidays, but hopefully you'll be feeling better afterward.

Actually we could have done it sooner but it would have been the week of Christmas. We (actually I) decided to wait till after that and my birthday.

I read about ablation. Amazing tech but it doesn't sound like any picnic for the recipient. At least you'll be able to brag to other Trek fans that your heart has survived a hit in the same way the Defiant does when its shields are down! :bolian:

This will be my second ablation. I mentioned about not being comfortable being awake, even for a little bit like the last time, after this year and he said that he would give me something to make me sleep and keep me out during the whole thing. Then he turned to my friend that went with me and mentioned something about a 2x4.

Humor must surely be part of a doctor's med kit.

I doubt I would want to be awake for a second go either. I might be up for the first time out of curiosity if I get to watch the action on a monitor but I'd just as soon sleep through the second showing - kinda like Star trek V: The Final Frontier.

This is the same doctor who, when my wife asked for the remote control to the ICD, said he would give her one in exchange for portraits of dead presidents and inventors. She said that she had the checkbook with her. He said that would work because that's traceable...... This all occured while I was sitting right there.

^It's a valid point. I don't think anyone here wishes you ill, but you should consider yourself quite fortunate to have adequate medical insurance.

Especially considering that I'm the prime example of how no one with a pre-exisiting condition can get insurance..........Oh wait.............

Or someone that wouldn't have it if it wasn't for other people paying for it and helping out...like a big pool that people pay into to help the less fortunate...oh wait.

Well after all, you are paying for your insurance-- the last I heard-- your getting it free do to your wife's co-workers taking up the slack. No different than social insurance: someone else is paying your bills.

Actually the coworkers are not paying for it at all. Where did you get that idea? My wife's employer, the owner (small company) said that the company (he) would cover the cost until we're back on our feet. The others are not aware of this that I know of.

Hmmm, seem to recall that you mentioned that the co-workers knew of the arrangement and were part of it. Either way, you're still living on healthcare paid for someone else-- and have in the past with state health insurance as well. Just "social" healthcare on a individual scale.

Lucky that the recession hasn't forced your wife's employer into dropping you. So yeh it's a blessing that you're fortunate enough to get the "luxury" that so many millions of suffering Americans are denied.

Sorry, you have to do better than just ask if you want me to have an hard-on. :p

But it's ok since he's God's pet. If you aren't getting any, it's probably because he hates your guts.

Yeah, put why are you now on your wife's employer's insurance and don't have your own?

That's indeed what he told us some time ago.

Ablation changed to Monday the 21st due to the fact that I had another attack of tachycardia Sunday morning and Monday morning. ICD fired both times.

Thanks. I hope I can make till then without anymore tachy runs and shocks.

That is not exactly what I said.
