I couldn't find a trailer on Youtube, but here's a mini episode about farting. Oddly this clip has a laugh track, and the full sized episode I saw this morning which a completely different story, did not have a laugh track. Which means as usual with Louis, we are dealing with the grim side of Comedy.
Louis CK on his website, on his mailing list, without any traditional advertising, without using a Network or Netflix, by himself with friends made a 1 hour (a real hour. No ads) dramodey about a fucked up family who owns a bar. He asked for $5 if people wanted to download Horace and Pete from a secure site, and later as the are made, 3 dollars for each episode in the rest of the season, because the start up costs for the pilot were huge. I mean the turn around was that quick, he actually just said "Oh, do you want to buy this? I know you've only known it exists for the last 20 seconds, but It's ready, take one if you want one. Cheers!" Which is an unusual business model. Episode two came out this morning.
Horace and Pete seems to be set up like a stageplay, preformed a in a few acts on two sets, or veeeery long takes with multi cameras, which works, and then Alan Alda starts saying the N-Word because he thinks that that is still alright. It's funny and sad and I'm not sure where it's going but would you look at the cast on this thing!? This could be a movie!
