This sandwich thing - Nah, I'd never do that. Too much self-esteem.
I think that, sadly, JR has a point. There is a lot of latent sexism and women shouldn't tolerate it.
The prob is if we protest against such treatment we get accused of whining, constant complaining, having no sense for fun etc. etc.
It's a lose/lose situation, most of the time.

I agree. I told my husband NOT to get me an engagement ring. I'd rather we saved the money towards a house. He was relieved.

(For our wedding rings, we got wholesale catalogs from his sister who made jewelry at home. We went through them, made our choices, and were very happy with them.)

As for the sandwiches, well, whatever works for them. I like sandwiches, too, and experimenting with recipes can be fun.
