The singularity wouldn't necessarily have to be about AI... it could just as easily be transhumans. Everyone likes transhumans!

I'd transhumanize me. Plugged in, essentially immortal and ready to rock.
But I'd would not want to loose my dashing good looks.

...and that is just one of many reasons why Humans should be the ones fighting the wars. Leave military robotics in the war material production factories and drone aircraft where it belongs.
