I actually have no idea how much I spent. I didn't bother to do the math. My guestimate is about $600 which is about average I think.

Nice! When I had a steady, good paying job, I would spend well into the hundreds. I think the most I spent on one Christmas (back when I worked for DELL) was $900.

We don't always go nuts or even always do gifts, but one year my husband bought his older brother a Playstation 3. The look on his brother's face was priceless. This is a guy who always has a joke or witty comment ready, and he was speechless for the first time ever. What a great Christmas.

Aw, that sounds sweet. :D
I made my mom cry one Christmas, when I bought her a full size, portable electronic piano. This is usually my goal. :ouch:

The best Christmas present I've ever done was when we bought my sister a DVD player (this was years ago when DVD players were pretty new and before my sister became the member of the family with the high-paying job!) - we'd also bought her American Beauty on DVD and she opened that first, and you could see the calculation going on in her head "Why have they bought me a DVD? And what's in that other big present?"

That was cool :)

I wasn't really keeping a budget but I only spent $120.76 this year for gifts. That's not too bad. It's a lot less than I thought it was going to be.
