Flying Spaghetti Monster

of course we know they are all acting, following stage directions, and they know their characters so well as do we, but on occasion I notice some strange movements, or steps that are taken. Even after a lot of rehearsal there are strange things the way they move.

I was watching DejaQ:

In the very beginning after the teaser, Picard is talking to Geordi. It's followed by Riker getting up to address Q, but he is looking toward where the captain would be and getting up toward the captain's chair.. it looks like he wasn't sure where Q was standing. At the same time, Picard walked around the horseshoe down the ramp, and awkward steps over the railing near the end of it. He looks like he almost tripped over it.

Anyone else notice these kind of things?

Frakes again. In Masterpiece Society there's a scene down on the planet where he turns to leave the room and almost walks into the wall. Poor love.

These kinds of things would be happening all the time - but if the director is paying attention, they will ask that the scene be re-shot. I guess in these cases the slip-ups were minimal enough that they assumed most people wouldn't notice.

Little did they know at the time they were making these episodes that they would be seen over and over, and sold in numerous DVD box sets, etc, etc. :)

I like an occasional slip-up like this because it makes the characters seem a little more human. Real people do stumble around like the gangly apes we are. When Hollywood edits all of this out they lose an element of believability.
