History Channel - Ancient Aliens

Just a quick query about this one (not wanting to start a flame war over whether anyone believes this theory or not) - there are a number of cut-scenes used in the series that appear to be fairly high-end sci-fi movie type visual effects of space battles, and a space station that looks vaguely similar to trek's spacedock. there are also some lower-end cgi visuals that i would assume were commissioned for the series. Anyone know if the higher end cutscenes were lifted from a particular movie(s) or if all effects were commissioned directly for this series?

AFAIK it's a mix of directly commissioned scenes, and scenes created for documentary channel effects libraries - a bit like how there are music companies like Two Steps From Hell and X Ray Dog who specialise in composing library music for trailers and TV channels rather than for specific shows.

Didn't they also recycle footage from the pilot for the unsuccessful reboot of Lost In Space?

And to complete the image above, here's the extended version:

The deleted scenes from Ancient Aliens are all genuine archival footage recovered from flying saucers and leaked from Area 51. That's why they were deleted. You don't argue with the Men in Black.
