Hirogens vs Jem'Hadar

Voyager stole the hell out of everything.

You make it seem like DS9 was original with the Jem'Hadar.

Anyways, the Hirogen had armor strong enough to let them walk on Suns. I think they take the Jem'Hadar.

And given how constrained the show's premise was, there wasn't anything they could do with their enemies that WOULDN'T make them monsters of the week or add to the show in a meaningful way. So there's no point in complaining over that. It's pretty much impossible to tell an epic story with a plot like Voyager.

when do they say they can walk on suns?

In "Prey" one of them mentioned he hunted something while walking on a collapsed star.

I think they were both intriguing enemies. Certainly the Jem'Hadar had a much longer story arc. They raised a lot of interesting questions, particularly in the field of cloning and super-soldiers.

I kind of liked how the Hirogen explored the holodeck as a future way to satisfy their hunting needs. Their leader pointed out some important issues they were facing as a species, most notably the lack of cohesion. The holodeck would open them up to exploring more constructive pursuits, so that hunting prey wouldn't be the primary task all the time. But... once they had that going, what would the Hirogen do? Would they seek to conquer to annex planets? I kind of hoped that Voyager would encounter another Hirogen vessel down the road, in a similar manner as the first time, then an "advanced" Hirogen commander comes along to intercede... seems like they're helping out to correct one of their own, but then an ulterior motive starts coming to light.
