Himbo: Why did ladies accept Trip when they rejected Riker?

Re: Himbo: Why did ladies accept Trip when they rejected Rik

Trip was take on George W. Bush, and most women want to get boned by the most powerful man in the world.

It's that simple.

I simply don't find him attractive, I think it's something with his nose

The first attempt at a "himbo" in modern Trek came in the form of William T. Riker when he was introduced to audiences in TNG's "Encounter at Farpoint" yet only a few seasons later the ladies were all over that stuffy/curmudgeon Jean-Luc Picard, instead. Huh???? :wtf:

Then a few years passes by, and we have Charles "Trip" Tucker III introduced in ENT's "Broken Bow" and the ladies are all over him.

I mean, Trip is for all intents and purposes the same kind of himbo as Riker, yet the ladies for the most part bought into one but didn't buy into the other...Why or why not???

Because the actor who played trip had a better body, a Southern accent and a more likeable Character. ;)

Agreed. The very idea makes me sick.

Although it doesn't surprise me that it was posted by a male poster who, even after about 5 years of near constant shipper threads, STILL has no idea why women like Trip.

Riker got fat. So did Worf.

It was always hilarious how their action figures, or portrayals in the comics were so lean and muscular, yet on the show they had just turned in to cows.

That's why, GWR.

How true. You are the only other person besides me who noticed Worf began to resemble the chief Klingon before eye-popping Gowron. By the time of "Far Beyond The Stars" (DS9) and Dorn's portrayal of "Willie" (Mays), it was obvious he was WAY too tubby to play a baseball player.

As far as the action figures, my wife and I grabbed a few in the hopes that our future kids would love ST. The kids are now 7 and 9 and won't touch them because "Riker and Worf are WAY TOO SKINNY!" :guffaw:

Re: Himbo: Why did ladies accept Trip when they rejected Rik

Riker got fat and old, Trip didn't. That about sums it up.

Actually, it doesn't. If Riker was young and slimmer, Trip would still win.

Re: Himbo: Why did ladies accept Trip when they rejected Rik

I don't see how trip was a ladies man i mean in the whole of the 4 years he had 'relations' with T'Pol, that alien princess and a hologram and thats it ( i am not counting that alien that got him pregnant becouse he didn't do anything with her! )

What hologram?

Re: Himbo: Why did ladies accept Trip when they rejected Rik

It's pretty simple. Most white American women under 35 today are afraid of more manly men; most want a wussy boy who can be more of a girlfriend.

Trip is NOT wussy. He's strong but gentle, protective, kind, humorous, passionate and compassionate, easy-going and friendly.
