Highlander remake on the way

Queen fuckin' rocked! The soundtrack will probably be done by something more contemporary like The Muse anyways.

Heck, the Marx Brothers first few films were basically their own stage plays, restaged for film.

How many Three Musketeers have there been?

Regarding the possibility of sequels to a film like Highlander: it's not an inherently bad idea, as it may seem to us. Yes, there are limits to what you can do, but that doesn't mean you can't make a great film or two while doing them. For instance, Highlander II twice tried to explain the Immortals' origins, saying in the theatrical version that they were aliens from Zeist and then changing it in the Renegade Version to them being from the distant past (or something). It failed badly both times. Not because the Immortals' origin should always remain unexplained, but because "aliens from Zeist" and "people from the past" were bad explanations.

I'm glad that they didn't go forward with the script from the "Iron Man" scribes. I had a chance to glance over that and it was pretty awful. The immortals in that script used guns instead of swords. Suffice it to say that I didn't finish reading the script.

After listening to a couple of their tracks to understand what band you are talking about... Blimey... The Muse suck, I couldn't think of a worse band to do a soundtrack.

The puerile crap that gets posted around here continues to amaze me. "Gay" music? What the fuck is that?

Well, I'd assume music about gayness could be called "gay music". Like the Franz Ferdinand song "Michael", which is about a guy who wants to dance with a guy called Michael. And the Electric Six song "Gay Bar" -- thematically, that's quite obviously gay.

However, the soundtrack to Highlander is not, in fact, gay music. It's music about immortal people cutting each other's heads off. And the love songs are written as gender-neutral. :borg:

Connery's character wasn't Eqyptian. He was an alien- somehow named Ramirez- remember?
They should surprise us and give us a Highlander 2 prequel

Highlander: The Battle for Zeist

Oh yeah it was the first contemporary band off the top of my head who I thought would be somewhat comparable to Queen. They've popped up in a lot of songs for trailers lately like say The Watchmen.

Ah... I understand the confusion - you are thinking of Muse who are an alternative/prog rock band from England, The Muse are an industrial metal band from Nashville, USA. :guffaw:

Yes, Muse would be good for a soundtrack.

Ohhh, haha yeah I didn't even know there was another band with almost the same name.
