Hi there, posting some of my art

Mr Marley Mac

Ensign
Newbie
Hi Everyone, I am new here, I cant remember the last time I posted art on a Forum, I feel ancient.
I love the Excelsior II design and immediately went to work on refitting it like John Eaves achieved in Star Trek Generations (I John Eaves'd a John design)

Have a great day everyone

Marley

Hi Professor Moriarty
My background is a mix of Art Exhibits, commissioned Illustration (Children's Books), Graphic design. Ive actually been around some time now, Ive been posting my art (not necessarily Star Trek related) online for 21 years now.

I'll either sketch and colour the ships in photoshop or I'll build a Mesh in Blender 3d and detail that mesh in Photoshop, to also add backdrops and what have you.

These are my positive life balance escapes ;D
Thanks so much

Wow, where did you come from? Lovely—almost painterly. Can you tell us anything about your background, the tools you’re using here, etc.? VERY nice work.

I love that you've Enterprise-B'ed the Excelsior II - and not in an obvious way. To me, the extensions look like two hands presenting the deflector :bolian:

I'm intrigued by your spacedock interior, too. Is the pier/pontoon where Stormbreaker is docked made of skyscrapers? However you did it, it's a really lovely effect.

Thank so much, the "Protective Hands" were completely by accident. All by accidentally pulling vertices on the y axis. I then knew what I wanted to do. hah. However this did start a little more generically from an earlier instance...The ship started life as a CSS Variant hah.

And yes the light texture is from photography of City Scapes, A technique I observed with the docked Titan - A concept art released by Terry Matalas and Dave Blass.

You actually de-Eaved it.. you don't have any impulse engines aimed at nacelles or the pylons. ;) and it is a great looking ship. :mallory::techman:

haha well the additional engines are already present on the original Excelsior but I did add some beneath the saucer.

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone
Marley

With what I can only assume are photon artillery tubes of some sort, the Stormbreaker looks mean—like something a badmiral would use for her flagship.

NICE. :techman:

ETA: whoops… I missed that this was the “CSS” variant. And looking closer, I see that the side emblem on the port engineering hull is labeled FEDERATION OF DOMINANCE. Well, so there, then!

Hah, yea I fully hammed it up with the emblem. I was think something like Confederate Nation of Dominance, but maybe settled on Confederation of Dominance.

Even the list of names for the ship were positively exciting like "Sword of the Angels" or "Chariot of God" Just really hamming up the intent with a little satire. I decided to settle on "Stormbreaker" just a little bit less controversial.
