Hi from Delta Vega

Delta Vega

Commodore

New here, but not new to Star Trek, been a fan since it was first aired in GB in 1969.
Thought I`d put my toe in the water and say hello.
Favourite Trek is James T Kirk and crew, special mention to Voyager and Enterprise.

My summarization of the Captains is as follows

Kirk...............passionate, edgy, clever, not afraid to use his fists, love him what a guy. :)

Picard............not really my cup of tea, a bit too PC for my liking, for me Data is the star.

Sisko.............generally ok but the Emissary stuff left me a bit cold, loved Odo and Kira

Janeway........see Kirk only female, questions must be asked about her initial folly of stranding the crew aeons from home.

Archer..........really liked this guy, loved T`Pol, cant understand why this was cancelled

Hi Delta Vega - as a fairly recent 'newbie' it's nice to see more members from the UK.

Where are you from, and do you like Treklit ? I spend most of my time here on the 'lit section.

I`m from Glasgow :)

I havent tried any books on Star Trek except one Shatner biopic, Star Trek Memories which kind of dissappointed me.

The books can be hit or miss. There are a lot of good ones out there though. I particularly liked some of the early ones like "Spock Must Die" and even some of the early entries in the PocketBooks series. Also the first "New Voyages" collection of short stories was very good if you can find it.

Welcome aboard !

If you are in need of Trek (there's not enough around these days) the relaunch novels following on from the end of DS9 / Voyager / TNG have some good stuff in them. Check out the Treklist threads for info and recommendations !

See you around !
