Hey has any heard about STO's Advisory Council?

Personally speaking, this sort of thing is usually a terrible idea unless you carefully control who is on it (and even then it's a terrible idea). It looks like that hasn't happened anyway as I hear one of the guilds that got invited is already being a bunch of idiots about it.

The council thing aside i was quite disgusted by the reaction to some of those so called trek fans over on the STO official forums, their very personal attacks and rabid verbal abuse on those people that were picked for this STO council thing was way over the top, its was like a lynch mob gone bad, i would not wish some of the things that were aimed at those people personally against my worst enemy.(If i had one).

I certainly thought i would never see such stuff from a Trek fans mouth....Scary stuff from scary people.

I've always found it's a bad idea to read the official game boards for any MMO. They are always filled with whiners and complainers. Reading those boards is the fastest way to become disillusioned with a game.

^^^I cant disagree with you there, i don't think i have ever seen so much rabid, red faced with blood vessel popping anger, unadulterated hate, for a Star Trek product or anybody concerned with it.

The problem with ANY 'official' MMO BBS is that those who generally like the game don't post a lot. The ones who do the most posting ARE the ones with game issues/some axe to grind (either CS issues, bug issues, or problems with the game design, content, etc. as they see it; or they dislike a Dev for some perceived insult or something that happened on another project they were involved with previously) - thus when you look at the large majority of posts, the comments are MUCH more likely to be negative then positive.

Yes, there are positive posts, or posts with usable and honest feedback (good and bad); but it's often hard to slog through the signal to noise ratio at times.

Hell, just look at the official Blizzard/World of Warcraft boards, and you'll be left wondering HOW Blizzard managed to dupe 10+ million people and keep them subscribing month after month.

I don't think I've even looked at the official STO forums. I like the game and don't really have any complaints. If I want to talk about something I come here.

Yeah, I went to the boards to ask about any possible klingon content in the future since thats something I'd like to see. Saw so many negative posts I instead posted some of the things I liked about the game. You know, positive reinforcement and the like.

It very quickly fell off the first page, and I haven't even bothered to see how far back it is now. I was rather disappointed at the fact because I'm enjoying the game a lot.

There was even someone who was complaining that the server was down for maintenance. Apparently thinking that they should have so many servers that it should never ever ever ever be down. Or at least thats the impression I got. Even was quiting the game because of it.

Some people are just... illogical.:vulcan:

Perhaps someone could suggest some toy tie ins--ship replicas to be sold perhaps. Too many action figures, not enough ships.

Maybe I can help; I don't work for Cryptic, but I'm one of the volunteers who runs their official IRC channel.

A full suite of Klingon PvE storyline content is being worked on for the Season 2 update, which is scheduled for July, Kaziarl.

If you guys have more questions, I'll subscribe to this thread and try to answer what I can, or you can join us in the IRC channel and lots of folks can answer there.
