Dynamite Entertainment is reviving the NBC show, which went off the air in 2010, as a comic book, according to Comic Book Resources. The books will pick up right where the television series left off, CBR reports.

Writer Cullen Bunn will author the continuation, which he says he views as "Heroes Season 5." "I was a faithful viewer of Heroes when it was on television," Bunn told CBR. "I really want to delve into these characters more."

The comic books will feature all the core characters from the show, Bunn says. Each book will focus on one or two characters specifically and be told from a different character's point of view.

The comics are scheduled to debut later this year.

Very interesting. Like most Heroes fans I consider the first season to be the best, and everything afterward to be not as good. As long as the show writers have nothing to do with this, it should be cool.

Meh. They could never replicate the awesomeness of season one. Though season one finale was.. less than stellar.

I'm probably not going to read it, but if someone does and let's me know what happens, that would be cool. Maybe whoever takes over the comic can add a bit of consistency. The other seasons had some good ideas, but they mostly fizzled in execution. Really, aside from Silar, everything else just never quite worked. It was a show with lots of potential, so it's a real shame.
