Aren't there only 18 episodes in this season though? Hopefully that's true and there's only 7 left. Just put it out of its misery sooner rather than later. This was garbage, even if it did hold my attention for the 4th week in a row.

I can sum up my review of this episode in just one word: Ugh.

The scenes with Sylar were just embarrassingly bad, and the one attempt at humor (Claire slicing open her arm to make the faggish boyfriend faint) just made me want to slap someone.

I know I say it every week but it's true: Such a fucking waste of a brilliant concept of a show.

I thought it was okay, especially because they were actually making Hiro serious and gave him some balls. But then they had to ruin it at the end by taking his most recent memories away . Seriously every time Hiro gets any kind of character progression they just take him back even further.

I'm not sure but was Mr. Watson the cat that he and Ando rescued at the beginning of this season?

The whole Sylar/Not!Nathan deal really is beyond retarded at this point. And all (IMO) to avoid having to write for a fully-functional Sylar - which, let's face it, they haven't got a clue how to do anymore. Nerf, nerf, nerf. Shite.

And yet again the Petrellis show their unbelievable stupidity by actually wanting Not!Nathan to be the one driving Sylar's body - as if that's not a recipe for Emergent Sylar Funtime in the future...

Does anyone know if the Samuel story is supposed to run through the entire season, or if they're doing half season stories again?
I know that Samuel is still around in episode 15 so I'm assuming that this might be a season long volume rather than two separate ones like in season 3.

Also it looks like Heroes is suppose to have 19 episodes but I'm not sure if they are counting the 2 hour premiere as one episode because they labeled it as Chapter One not Chapter One and Two.

It also looks like Heroes winter hiatus is only 4 weeks with the fall finale on December 7th and then Jan 4th I believe there is suppose to be another two hour episode and then the following week it moves to 9pm eastern time slot after Chuck.

He has retreated into madness. Madness, I say! BWAHAHAHA!!!!

...this show has finally become so bad that it's starting to be good again. We have to take our little victories as they come.

its in full "Passion's talking doll" mode now.

 I gave it an "Excellent" for sheer entertainment value. Probably the most absurd episode of Heroes I've ever seen. Over-the-top and ridiculous--and funny as hell. Everyone's so dysfunctional. My only complaint is that the dinner scene with Sylar should have gone on a bit longer. The episode went up several notches with "What's for dinner? I'm starved!"

We are definitely in "so bad it's good" territory now!

As absurd and crazy as this episode was...It was the most comic book feeling in a long time. I mean, come on, I could TOTALLY envisage a comic book cover of a screaming Sylar with lightning all around him with some equally cheesy title like "THE REBIRTH OF A MONSTER!" or some such.

If they can let go of heavy shock and awe drama and make it more like a comic book, im all for that. :P

Yeah, this show has proven a long time ago they can't really tell epic, sweeping stories that make any sense. Instead, they should just go for balls-to-the-wall scenery chewing and absurdity. Just go nuts. Let Sylar cut loose, doing what he does. Play up the dysfunctions of the various family units. Keep things moving so fast you don't have time to take a breath. That seems to be what they are good at. Slow, ponderous "drama" is not their strong suit, and the show suffers when they attempt it.

Like others, I enjoyed this one, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that it was kind of absurd. It might not have been intelligent, but it was actually pretty fun.

The Petrelli family Thanksgiving... what a wacky event. In particular, Sylar kissing Angela was so hilariously creepy. And over at the Bennett family's get-together, who didn't thinkthat Lauren would show up again in the present day after being shoehorned into the flashback episode a few weeks ago? Ah Heroes... you haven't lost your touch when it comes to telegraphing. :p

For all the people that are complaining in this topic, it is getting decent grades in the poll. :rommie:

Pretty average episode I guess. I mostly hate holiday themed episodes in my shows so I was bored during the Bennet scenes. Peter's current non reaction to Sylar as Nathan is so weird. I really miss season one's "I'm a serial killer Sylar".

Absolutely. And it totally fits comic book logic that they would take a played out villain and re-invent him by going the Jekyll/Hyde route.

As for the whole Nu-Nathan/not-Nathan thing, they have clearly retconned what Parkman did into a more comprehensive personality transfer (or a "soul", if you are of that persuasion.) Personally, I'm just going with it: is he Sylar, is he Nathan, is nu-Nathan, is he Sylar who thinks he's Nathan? It's Heroes. He's whatever the writers decide he is this week.

Heroes viewership held up surprisingly well for a Turkey Day Week: 5.17 million; A18-49: 2.3/ 6. That demo is up from last week. They are definitely down to the "I'll watch anything with X in it" diamond-hard core.

They just better know who the X's are. If Adrian Pasdar is one...? :wtf:

Instead, they should just go for balls-to-the-wall scenery chewing and absurdity. Just go nuts.
Absolutely. The audience that demanded intelligence or coherence in the writing is long, long gone. Give us Grand Guignol insanity!!! It's all you fools have left.

Which is why I hope my spoiler-theory above comes true, because it's the kind of thing you can get away with only in a comic book and even then, as a happy ending, it's pretty stupid and screwed up. Which means at this point, it would be the perfect ending for this show. :rommie:

I'm sure Peter has a plan for making sure Sylar stays locked in the basement where he belongs! He just doesn't have the slightest clue what it is yet, but something will come to him...and it will be totally foolproof!

I just adore the way Peter utterly ignores the complete frakking wrongness of hijacking someone else's body just to fulfill your own sad, self-deluded, co-dependent needs. Eye-talian Eagle Scout, my ass! :rommie: He's every bit as evil as Mommy Dearest.

Okay serious, Matt needs to get his ass back to NYC and put a stop to all this nonsense. Simply for the safety of the Parkman family, Sylar clearly needs to be killed, regardless of his potential to provided a temporary salve to all the Petrelli family dysfunctions.
