also I think the carnival setting itself isnt real...

I really liked this episode. But I miss Nathan.

Well, better than the last two weeks and some good stuff at the end (T-Bag and The Carnival, deaf girl's powers, Invisible girl) but still too much damn exposition. They're calling those internet shorts "Slow Burn" but that's exactly how I would describe this season of Heroes. And not in a good way.

This one was above average, but only because of Sylar's plot.

Average--a bit better than last week but still not up to the previous standards of high quality from season one.

I'm interested in where Sylar's story is going and is role in the carnival. The episode also had one of the first true welcomed surprises the show has had in quite some time with Rebecca being the manipulator and not Gretchen.

Next week's promo has me a little concerned that Hiro will be cured by the healer--this season seems to be revisiting season one abilities with invisibility and now healing. Emma is becoming more interesting. Louise Fletcher is again wasted. Cristine Rose too. Sylar has long since ceased being an interesting character but this new identity crisis has done the impossible--sparked interest in him from me--however remains to be seen whether it will go somewhere interesting or just be treated as merely a plot point without any depth.

Despite some minor progress, set-up is still too labored and a lot of the episode feels like filler disguising itself as supposedly quieter character moments. In season one seemingly pointless scenes eventually took on importance in hindsight but I'm not holding out that being the case these days.

I think the carnival is real but the old guy from the first episode that has Hiros ability teleported the carnival from where it was to where Sylar was and then transported back to the first location.

Another good episode. I'm noticing that there really isn't any action or fighting this season (aside from the brief Darth Maul fight), but surprisingly I don't mind it. Boy this show is just getting more and more like Carnivale now! So I was looking down but apparently Claire and Gretchen lezzed out? Of all the times to be cutting my nails

How close is the Carnival to Clairs college? Because the invisible chick sure does get around. Oh wait the old guy who is near death and can barely move is zipping her around at a moments notice, yes that must be it. Do any of the writers on this show keep track of what they wrote a scene earlier? At least the deaf girl with the light powers is interesting and seeing Kai Winn on the show is always a good thing.

BTW, very clever bit with the children singing the theme from The Greatest American Hero.

Anyone else getting tired of Angela worrying about her fake son? The character was so much better in the early seasons.

In regards to the question of how Peter picks up his power, I guess it's a mix of empath and want. He had Mohinder's power at the beginning of the season because he wanted it. When he fought Ray Park's character, he needed Ray's power to fight him and he obtained it. In Emma's case, he saved her life and seemed to form a quick bond with her, even before he learned about his powers. Empathic I guess. Or just an inconsistent mess.

BTW, what the hell was the problem with Ernie Hudson's character? That guy looked like he wanted to start a violent confrontation even before he learned the truth about Sylar.

I am very confused as to where this story is going and why it's taking so long to get going.
