Wasn't he going to use the healing power to heal Hiro? Why do a who bloody plot about him looking for a healer, getting his power, and then forget why you did all that??

Ummm... what show do you think you're watching here? :)

Alot of filler episodes this season, and finally some monumental bowel movement

I wonder what powers Samuels brother had and it's probably pretty obvious that he killled him

You know, Mohinder's girlfriend is a perfect example of one-dimensional characters who are written as plot contrivances who have no purpose other than to tell the hero, "You can't do this because you can't!"

^^^^^^^
Yeah, and they seem to be implying that Mohinder was involved with her before this -- perhaps before he first went to the U.S. to follow his father's work. Were they "on a break" the whole time he was away from India? If not, he better hope Maya doesn't come around again one of these days, or he'll have some 'splaning to do. ;)

Maybe Peter doesn't know that life-and-death kid is dead, and plans to re-absorb his power later (yeah, I know, I'm reaching, but with this show you kind of need to fill in the blanks yourself -- it's not like the writers are going to! :p)

Anyway, this episode was okay; I'd say average or above average... not quite sure yet. It feels like they're finally moving forward with this season's arc. I generally liked most of it, but geez, Peter's non-reaction to the truth about Sylar/Nathan was frustrating. I want to see some payoff to this (heretofore mostly-wasted) storyline, dammit! Hopefully we'll get some next week -- including, perhaps, Peter giving Angela hell for doing what she did.

So, why didn't Samuel have his carnival's time-traveller send him to a point where he could intercept Mohinder before he burned the film reel? Why did he need Hiro to do this? Was he worried the carny time-traveller would ask too many questions and rat him out to the rest of his gang? Another thing I'm wondering about is how Hiro apparently gave Mohinder a new identity and got him institutionalized. Are they going to gloss over the details there? Maybe it's not important, but I'm kind of wondering why these orderlies think Mohinder is someone else.

ETA: After thinking about it, I'm going to go with average. Reasonably entertaining, but still too many plot-holes, plus there were a few things I just didn't quite buy.

I wonder if Peter also absorbed some Sylar too?
Don'tcha know? That was the writer's being super clever! They had Peter absorb Sylar when he took Nathan's power even though there was absolutely no reason in the world for him to do so. They even focused on the transfer special effect both times, but shh, that reveals we were paying attention and have even a miniscule amount of a clue. Which we don't, because the writers are so super awesome at being crafty.

I wish I could find some cunning writing on every show I watch.

I long ago gave up worrying about these sorts of thing. It is clear the writers don't pay any attention to them so why should I. These days I just worry about the big things on this show because it is clear everything else is just a means to an end for the big story points.

Why can't Hiro go back in time and take Charlie before Samuel takes her? Problem solved.

Why can't Hiro go back in time and stop Mohinder from even meeting with Joseph? Problem solved.

The only thing on the film is Mohinder's father talking about Samuel's power increasing by pure proximity. Samuel is already doing that by recruiting specials to his carnival. So why does he even need the film?

This show should hop into bed with Smallville. They deserve each other.

So, is Heroes any good this season ?

I didn't like season 3 much and after watching half of the first ep of season 4 I just got bored and gave up.

Does it deserve another chance ?

No, not really. If you had the fortitude to give up in season three I'd say there isn't a reason to tune in now.

This season is *slightly* better but overall the characters are still not that interesting(Hiro is still annoying, poor Cristine has been wasted), the storylines aren't that great and have been poorly handled, the pacing has been plodding with a lot of aimless wandering(it took about 9-10 episodes to finally even become semi-interesting), the story logic is MIA and the new villian isn't particularly noteworthy.

In short, I don't see anything here that changed my mind that the show deserved renewal for a fourth season this year. I don't even know why I still tune in other than a sense of momentum.

Are we also supposed to assume that Hiro did this because he needed Mohinder to disappear for eight weeks? And if this is the case then why didn't Hiro just take Mohinder with him when he returned to the present? Wouldn't that solve the problem without having to institutionalize the guy?

Theyre gonna have Peter accept the Sylar body as Nathan. He's gonna be totally ok with that. Lovely. Hey if he wants to help the Sy/Nate hybrid out, ok...but he shouldnt be accepting him as the same guy. Even Sythan understands he's not the same guy.
:wtf: Tell me you're kidding. I knew there was a reason I quit watching. He's going to accept the new guy as Nathan.....when the majority of him is composed of the guy that murdered Nathan? :alienblush: :wtf:

That is FUBAR. I'm sorry, but give me Sam and Dean with Sam trying to strangle his brother over Nathan and Peter and their nonexistent relationship any day. At least they give a crap enough to be angry enough to strangle each other and throw knives. :guffaw:

basically if I recall correctly Sythan is all upset b/c he realizes he's really Sylar & Peter's response to him is that he doesnt believe its true, but if it were, "then so what? you look and act like my brother anyway." Yep. :wtf:

btw I feel bad for Adrian but I feel even worse for Sendhil, talk about a thankless role. At least Adrian will be freed of all the stupidity soon.

Did Peter only get the flight power or did he get all of Sylars powers when he touched him? He should have gotten all of them or at the very least been unable to pick which power he got. Oops sorry Pete you got the slice the brain open power have fun getting down from the cliff.

Since Peter believed Sylar-Nathan *was* Nathan he would be thinking about flight and get flight. Of course if the writer wheel of random plot elements lands on needing it, they'll give him all of Sylar's powers later. :shifty:

Hiro is stupid but not so stupid he can't see Mohinder is a menace as big as Sylar or Evil Butterfly Man. He wants Mohinder where he can't cause yet more problems. ;)

He should've left Mohinder dead.

I can't believe some of the replies in this thread! The plot keeps building from week to week and 3/4's are still complaing on how "they" would have written the episode! Reminds me how the TNG movies and spin offs. I think that of all the posts on here that ALL of you naysayers that cannot sit and watch an episode of this or your favorite show, if you wrote your own would not last more than 13 episodes (and that is credit given). Tonight was an excellent build up episode (of course with "fillers") to keep me interested. I voted EXCELLENT!

Hang on a minute, before this gets into TWOP territory; there's no necessary indication that Peter is just being ok with it. It's a hell of a shock finding out that the guy who walks, talks, and acts like your brother is actually the serial killer that murdered him. It seems like he's in a great deal of denial, and even during the final scene when Nathan saked Peter if he could ever look at him and not see Sylar, Peter couldn't answer him.

I know it seems to be the "thing" an the moment to bash the writers of this show, but sometimes it gets ridiculous when people start assuming something that hasn't even been given time to unfold yet, and then presenting it in a way that makes other people read it as fact.

As for the episode, I thought it was decent enough. It moved the plot forward well enough, added a few new interesting elements, and the final scene between Nathan and Peter was great.

I did think that what Hiro did to Suresh was a bit harsh, maybe a little too harsh for Hiro's character. I get that maybe he wanted Suresh out of the picture for a while (maybe even longer than the 8 weeks to prevent him causing trouble), but surely he could stranded him somewhere (nice) in time for a while instead of leaving him in an institute. I can't think of many things more horrifying than being locked in an institution with a bunch of crazies, and everyone thinking you're one of them, even though you're completely sane.

Tracy's emotional issues don't really interest me that much. The best part of her screentime was when Noah came in and spotted the severed foot on the table.

I'm really liking what they're doing with Samuel - although he looked like someone's Dad trying to pass themselves off as a goth in the flashbacks. I can't wait to see where they go with it. I know he needs people with powers around him to amplify his own, but he also seemed to be channeling Magneto when he was talking about making the world a better place for "people with abilities". Maybe he's looking to build his own little version of Genosha, for his own personal gain.

Good stuff.

^well Im hoping thats the case- that Pete's in denial & wont react until he hears it from Angela's own lips. But I just dont trust these writers anymore... theyve done stuff like this before (Caitlin who? Daphne who?)

another thing- I have a sick feeling Sylar is gonna get Matt's powers too.
We know Adrian is leaving and that Sylar wins the fight for his body (Kring said so himself.) How else would he be able to snuff out the Nathan memories/influence?
