Heroes and Icons TOS uncut?

So I was watching tonight's episode, "Obsession" and noticed a scene missing. It was the scene right after Nurse Chapel left Ensign Garrovick's quarters and he goes over to the tray of food and lifts the lid and in a fit of anger he throws the lid at the wall and it hits the ventilation controls. I noticed that was left out and we just see Spock talking to him, then the creature attacks Spock. I thought they didn't cut esp like ME TV does.

They're advertising TOS as uncut. I wonder if it's an issue specifically with the remastered version?

Sounds like an especially stupid cut, since it sets up the later scene with the creature entering through the vent in Garrovick's room. A similarly dumb dumb cut (in broadcasts of "Tomorrow is Yesterday") is the entire turbolift scene between Kirk and Christopher, that sets up the "I never did believe in little green men" line as they exit onto the bridge.

The BBC were very bad for cutting Trek during the seventies and eighties and they strangely enough couldn't say it was trimmed for time due to advertisements as they are funded by the public! There are numerous scenes that I'd never seen before until I bought the DVDs, like Kirk meeting Cogley and Lokai trying to subvert the Enterprise crew in the ready room and oh yes a few extra Gorn growls as such!

I distinctly recall seeing that scene on a VHS tape I rented (didn't have a life then either) back in the 80s, thinking "wow, I never saw THAT before".

I'm thinking that was a 2 pack, that I rented specifically for the other episode...hard to beleive I would have ever gone out of my way to rent that particular ep.

Get this! I bought the entire TOS VHS collection (second hand shops, market stalls and pawn shops) and never watched an episode! Next thing I know the show is out on DVD and the wife is persuading me to go over to it and ditch the VHS! (which I did)

Don't cry my sweet! I've seen all of the episodes on DVD and I had them taped from the TV and watched them many times as well! :sigh:
