I for one find Dean (on Supernatural) much less appealing than Alec (on Dark Angel). same actor, different look, different take, vastly different characters. funny how it happens that way.

Milo is not attractive to me. neither is Sendhil. Jack Coleman OTOH...

Yup. His purpose on the show is to be cute for the squealing fangirls. He sure wasn't hired for acting talent!

I'd guess that Ali Larter was the female equivalent but she doesn't accidentally lose her clothes nearly enough for that to be true, not nearly as much as Peter does.

Five hundred beelion treelion quadreelion quatloos says he gets his original power back, to be a power sponge, and it will happen before the end of this season (tho I hope they hold off on it for several episodes at least). The open questions are 1) are the writers smart enough to slap some sort of limitation on him to avoid the overpowering problem; and 2) do all the powers he absorbed pre-Arthur-hug also come roaring back (doesn't really matter either way since it's easy enough for the writers to throw a mind-reader or invisible guy in his path again).

I'm going to have to disagree on that one. Alec didn't have the chance for development that Dean's had in four seasons since Max had to be the star of the show on Dark Angel. Max and boring old Logan, who became boring the minute Alec came on the scene. After Dean described his 40 years in hell being carved up every single day by Alistair's knife until he broke and became a torturer himself, he became the epitome of hurt/comfort delight. Selling your soul into hell so your brother can live is angst heaven. I wish the Heroes writers remembered that Peter and Nathan are brothers. They can't even remember that one of them shot the other.

Dorian, oh I agree with you on the Sam/Dean Hurt/Comfort stuff (hehe, and now I've gotta visit fanfic.net ). I guess what I was saying was that Alec was right off the bat a character that had a lot of meat on its bones. sure, we were frustrated as hell at how ignored he was (don't get me started on how insipid I found Logan and his "romance" with Max) but even a season and a half of Alec was/is better than nothing.

Alec did have off the charts potential from the second he appeared on screen. That's for sure. Even the writers couldn't stop praising Jensen in the Dark Angel commentary for "The Berrisford Agenda" episode about Alec killing the girl's father. Alec was an assasin and he garnered sympathy. Not an easy feat. I never felt sorry for Max. Alba couldn't make me feel it.

Dorian, one thing is true: Dean (in Supernatural) has turned out to be a class act. an incredibly rich character. it's just that I felt as if Alec had so much potential and was pretty much wasted. and it pissed me off.

Alec got the Enterprise treatment for character development, I'm sorry to say. Couldn't agree more.
