Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leauge"

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

I think it would be best to have each character on their own adventure and wind up crossing paths, realizing that they after the same enemy and teaming up to defeat them. There's no need to have another character go around recruiting heroes.

I like this. And again... doing a Nick Fury like character recruiting again just seems like following Marvel.

There are ways to make successful movies that don't require following Marvel's way of doing it.

Maybe you could weave an arc throughout the solo movies, which culminates in "Justice League". We had character arcs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but not really and over arc (until I guess Thor and Loki). Then you'd have the big pay off movie in "Justice League". The other films would hint at this threat without having to have cameos or guest appearances from the heroes.

This would definitely be in keeping with the first appearance of the JLA in "The Brave and the Bold." They each fought a different Appalaxian invader and then came together to fight the last one together (IIRC)

I say go with each hero fighting a member of the Hyperclan when the Hyperclan member goes to their city to "help out."

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

it seems completely plausible that all the super-people would convergence of their own initiative on any really big threat; what really begs justification is the fact that they all stick to their own movies and books most of the time.

I agree. I've been thinking that after The Avengers, when we see Iron Man 3, Captain America 2 etc, when the going gets tough for our heroes, the audience may wonder 'Well, why doesn't he just send for the rest of The Avengers to help him out?'

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

congruent with the comics.

Not really It has the old trunks on the outside look the was ditched almost a year ago :)

I mean if we really want the films to look like the comics then this is what they have to look like

Which come to think about it the MOS superman suit actually is faithful to the comics now

Same here. The genie is out now, and whether they thought this through or not, it's a question that more people will probably start asking. I hope each movie doesn't contain a scene where we learn the others are "on a top secret mission" or "out in space" etc.

As for Justice League and Aquaman....I enjoyed Morrison's take on Aquaman in JLA, but really, we could lose Aquaman and not be any worse off for it.

Ah, I didn't know Batman had ditched the briefs too. Well, I do like the new Superman suit in both MOS and the comics.

Here's the current look of the current JL team:

^ Thanks. It has been a while since I've read the comics. Who is the cyborg looking guy on the opposite side of Aquaman?

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

Cyborg. Victor Stone, formerly of the Teen Titans. He was "promoted" for the New 52 version of the League.

That's Cyborg, originally of the Teen Titans in the post-Flashpoint DCU. DC went with Cyborg instead of the Martian Manhunter to add some diversity to the JL. Personally, I'd have gone with the Manhunter or a new character altogether.

J'onn is a member of Stormwatch for some strange reason.

Yes, now the character who had been considered the 'heart' of the League for over 25 years (real time) was never a member.

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

He could ave wiped he membership from the collective gestalt of humanity or people could become infested with confusing memories of he old 52...

Was Snapper Carr part of the Justice League?

Yeah, my feeling on that is that DC wanted to make the core line-up of JL more politically correct. I have zero problems with an African American on the team. My problems were: A) losing J'onn who, while his powers need to be dialed down, is a compelling character who is known due to the JL/JLU series and B) choosing an existing character like Cyborg instead of creating a brand-new character to serve as the "entry POV" character for the team.

A new character might have given readers who are totally new to comics the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new character, something sorely needed in a line-wide reboot. Of course, I'd have even been happy with Jaimie Reyes. YMMV.

I wonder why they just didn't make the human that J'onn transformed into black. Smallville did the same thing by picking a black actor for the role.

People consider Superman white even though he is alien.

Re: Here's my free advice to the WB on how to lead up to "Justice Leau

Because Detective John Jones is his civilian identity one of many, but the one he uses the most...whom we barely see when J'onn is in Martian form and interacting with the League.

Even if J'onn was in most of the movie, I doubt he would be in his Martian form (makeup or CGI) that much. You don't see Banner as the Hulk all the time or Stark always in his armor in Avengers.

J'onn would have be in his human form mainly in the movie and only transform when in the fights.
