Here is MusicRadar's list of the top 10 singers of all time:

Matt Bellamy of off Muse? Really? Really though?

Honestly I couldn't disagree with this list more. MusicRadar seem to only listen to pop and rock music.

I'm sorry, but Bono is not in the Top Ten??

He's a perfect rock singer. Listen to Bad or Kite and then tell me what's what.

And where is Geoff Tate? That guy has some serious pipes.

Janis Joplin? Hello?

As for the rest, Axl Rose is great. Robert Plant is great. Freddie was awesome.

:techman:

When I saw Radiohead live, their music flat out sucks you in. He didn't try to do too much, but it was easily top 5 concerts I've ever been too. But I'd put him on the frontman list, not the singer list.

Yeah, you're right, although when he sings that long looong sequence in Creep without drawing breath, it's pretty impressive.

Have you heard him play guitar beyond the acoustic and rhythm parts he plays? He's an amazing guitarist too, but he avoids playing lead because he thinks he sounds too much like Brian May. The guy can rock it though, seriously.

And going back to Bellamy, i'd say he is the best multi-instrumentalist on that list by some way. If you look at it as a list of frontmen he absolutely deserves to be there, being one of the best pianists and lead guitarists in Rock right now, but his ability to sing tough lead vocal parts over the top of excruciatingly hard guitar parts that combine rhythm and lead into one without missing a note is what puts him over the top in the frontman department IMO, he just oozes talent.

I find the last 3 Muse albums to be rather lifeless personally, great songs, but squashed by over production. But live, they are a different story.

I actually had no idea Thom Yorke could legit play guitar. I think I saw him play rhythm a little bit, along with some piano, but that's about it. And, fortunately or unfortunately (take your pick) he didn't play Creep.

Muse is definitely now on my list of bands to see live. Unfortunately, they just finished a tour, so I'm not sure when my next chance will be.

Any list of greatest singers without David Bowie doesn't get my attention. Greatest live singer I've ever heard--pretty amazing on album as well.
