Help with McAfee AV and game Trainers

I've had McAfee now for the past two years but I've just discovered that it has decided to treat my game Trainers as threats because they contain some sort of Trojan horse which I realise would be the case due to how Trainers work. I'm not looking for suggestions to change my AV as I've paid for a years subscription and intend to go through with the year when I'll change it then but I'm just looking to see if anyone knows if there was any way to prevent McAfee from removing these Trainers every time it does a scan.

You have to change the program settings to ask you what to do when a threat is found.

I've tried going through all the options I have on it but unless it doesn't have the option to do so I can't find it at all. I think I might have read on McAfee.com that Trojans can't be ignored and are simply always deleted when detected. It would mean that I would have to store the trainers on an external drive and disable my AV and copy them over when I need to use them.
