Help me prove Star Trek is Superior to Star Wars

TREK has had its ups and downs..and there is far more material, in terms of 'tv and movies'...but it all comes down to two aspects..

EWOKS
JAR JAR BINKS....

Trek wins

Surely that's like comparing Angel and The Shield because they're both set in L.A. :vulcan:

Apples and Oranges.

There is some merit to the comparison I think, especially between friends that often argue about it. Granted one is fantasy and one is sci-fi, I still think that you can have a debate on which one resonates with you more.

So all it is is a popularity contest.

Frankly, neither is scifi. Both are tech fantasy universes, populated by idiots with the intellectual flexibility of cooling magma.

Which is better? Hard to say given how they're both content to see who can get to the bottom first.

This argument will rage untill the end of time, To me its so obvious that trek is superior, in Star Wars the writers just seem to make up more and more ridiculous contraptions every day, the "Sun Crusher" is a prime example. Whereas Most of the time I could see star trek happening in a distant future, there is just nothing remotley belivable about star wars

Hey, you stole my username! Ah, no hard feelings! :)

Anyway, I agree with your comment. Star Trek and Star Wars are completely different beasts. Sometimes, I like eating apples. Sometimes I like eating oranges. I enjoy both Trek and Wars, for different reasons. However, in what is an 'Elvis versus Beatles' debate, you can enjoy both, but you have to like one more than the other. I personally like Trek a little more, because it's got more depth, and is smarter. Wars is good for an action fix.

And I like Angel, and the Shield, too. Despite both being in LA, they provide totally different experiences!

Hit the nail on the head.

Could not agree more. QFT.

The dialogue in Episode II is proof enough. It's so awful and clunky it could make you cry.

Oh, IMHO, the Ep II dialogue was fine....

The Ep III dialogue, however....

Anakin, just after he decapitates Dooku: "It's not the Jedi way."

Padme: "Oh, Anakin, hold me like you did on Naboo...."

Sidious, while zapping Windu: "POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWERRRRRRR!!! UNLIMITED POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"

Padme: "Oh, Annie, your breaking my heart!"

Just to name a few.

But the lamest line in ALL SIX FILMS is Anakin's last words to Obi-Wan, just before he gets burned to a crisp:

"I HATE YOU!"

Oh, please....

Hey, I just voted--and so far, Trek is beatin' Wars by two!

Get out and vote, y'all--because YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

(Here's to '08....)
