I recently acquired a very small lapel pin in a classic gold arrow/delta with a white MACO star in the center.
The most-commonly found places for this style insignia are badges seen in both The Original Series and Into Darkness.
However, those MACO stars are black: my MACO star is white.
Can anyone tell me of any iteration of a Starfleet Delta that has a white star inside it instead of a black one?
If anyone has any explanation or even hypothesis as to why it is, I'd love to hear it.
I like the white star because it's less prominent when I wear it: it takes the light catching it just right to make it obvious that it's there, compared to a heavily-contrasting black star.
But I'd love for anyone to tell me why they think the white star is there instead of the black one; my searching online has uncovered nothing.
This is my first post so I also thank you all very much for having me!
