Hell's Kitchen Returns

Where was the mystery chef from the previews? I must have missed that part.

As for the party thank goodness the edit make it look worse than it was (going by the birthday's girl's comments).

^I noticed that too, that they didn't show this person who supposedly came back. That was odd.

The birthday girl was actually pretty well-behaved compared to the girls on, say, Sweet Sixteen. For her mother being so demanding, she was actually nice and happy. I probably would have sent the meat back too, as I only eat medium-well and pinkness truly makes me feel like puking. And it was nice to have someone with a normal viewpoint (for me at least I guess). I've never tried shrimp either, and I'm 22. And I never want to - can't stand seafood.

This episode, and maybe this season, has felt a whole lot more gimmicky than previous seasons. Granted, I jumped in at the end of Season 2 to see Heather win, but I really enjoyed the show that season and all of the last. This season feels very different in that it feels more scripted and such. Maybe it's intentional, but watching this episode felt so fake. I mean the birthday girl looked like she didn't want to be there (As in bored), the mom and party planner were the two most annoying people on screen, and Ramsey was a little hypocritical after chiding Matt, but doing the exact same thing to Rosann. Granted, they both deserved it but you can't have it two ways.

I don't think Shayna should have went home last night. I was hoping it would be Rosann or Matt since I think eliminations should be based on overall performance. Both of those have served food raw in the past. Shayna sure hasn't.

I was disappointed that we didn't see the mystery chef. I guess the twist was Matt going to the woman's side, but those previews were so misleading.

While I thought that it was pretty amazing she'd never had shrimp ever before, I thoroughly enjoyed how much it deflated the chefs :guffaw: It was a huge WTF moment when a perfectly awesome meal got so horribly shot down by that girl :wtf::lol:

^Oh man, they would hate me. I enjoy cooking, but I prefer simple ingredients. Things I can recognize and pronounce, and never seafood (I've noticed that high end chefs seem to be obsessed with creating seafood dishes). The chicken wings and steak looked great, but without all that fancy stuff on it. I just want some plain chicken and mashed potatoes!

When I'm watching this show I feel like the chefs have gotten caught up in their own little world where everyone eats these high-end meals, and don't seem to realize that there is a huge number of people out there who actually enjoy things like Kraft mac and cheese. Usually their guests are just as posh though, so it's not a problem.

I really love it when they do the kid challenges, because I can look at the food and go "hey, I would actually eat that!"

Yeah, some of their choices for a teenager's BDay party was odd.

As for the mystery chef. I think that was the devil in Fox's promo department getting happy again. The promo said something to the effect of "someone shocking is joining the girl's team", well - it was Matt. And they just did some silly splicing with the footage to make you think a new contestant was entering the ring.

I wanted to slap the girl's mother too and the fey party planner?

I did chuckle when Matt was harping on the guys to go to the supermarket to buy their stuff for the challenge. Ramsey should of screamed at him right then and there for even thinking about entering a Super Market!

And I can't speak for the rest of the men, but when I look for a woman a "complete package" for me is *certainly* a woman who can read, cook, and looks great in heels!

Yeah the mom and party planner were pretty bad, though I thought it was pretty funny when Ramsey started yelling and the party planner went "ooh!" and put his hand up to his mouth. And when the one chick said they were not "friendalicious."

I miss Ramsey calling the contestants Donkeys. That was funny last season. :(

Anyway, interesting show tonight. I'm glad Ben is gone. Man was he awful and it showed when Matt went to the girls team. I still don't like the complaining though, especially coming from Jen. I still don't like Matt but got to give him credit for stepping up.

I still don't know who I'm rooting for. I think it might be Christina. I feel bad for her for being put on the chopping block twice, and she is a good cook and is starting to step out. Also, she is a little cute which always helps.

I know very little about this show, but whoever that host guy is who gets off on berating and insulting the contestants needs a swift kick in the fucking teeth.

WOW - what a turn of fortune for Matt. Even though I think he's a bit of a psycho  ... hey, he talked the talk and then walked the walk. Good for him. Also, the Ben/Matt ingredient "off" was pretty amazing. But nothing beat the look on Matt's face when Ben got chewed out during service :rommie::guffaw:

What was Jen doing?? She just shut down where, at least in the face of Ramsey, Ben kept in the game. Hey Jen -- seeya  This was a really fun episode.

I'm so damn sick of Jen. She needs to shut the fuck up and get off my TV.

And what was with blaming Louross for the mistake in the challenge? Wasn't it Bobby who took the veal and then decided he didn't want it? Do they really think Ramsey would've excepted Louross' dish with a veal steak thrown next to it? It'd look dumb and out of place.

This season zips past tragedy to farce. "Twenty-one ingredient challenge" with Matt's fingertip today, next week sweat in the food. I don't want to eat at a restaurant run by any of these people!

We're 7 weeks away from naming a winner of this thing and so far I don't have a favorite. Jen is annoying. Matt is inconsistant. I used to like Christina but now I'm not sure why. She's had quite a few bad services and saying I'm here learning doesn't mesh well. Corey is a Bi**h who I lost total respect for when she decided to play "strategy" early in the season. I understand the need to weed people out at first, but we should get to that point where the Chefs get serious. I don't think they are and it's making this season not very good. We need some consistency for heaven's sake.

I still like Bobby and Louross.

I think both of them have the best shot to win. Bobby is consistant and funny each way and even though Louross has made some mistakes, he's likeable. Still, with this season it's hard to find a clear favorite when all of them need some help.

Another tuesday, and another episode of Hell's Kitchen that shows how freaking incompetent these donkies (I really wish Ramsey would bring that back) are. God I was so hoping for a triple elimination. It would have been much better than what did happen given that next week we see the teams merged so that pretty much makes the switch over kind of useless. That and I really wanted to see Matt and Jen go home. Both of those two might be the worst contestents I've ever seen on this show. Last season at this time we actually saw improvement and the show get really serious, and this was after several weeks of the teams not knowing how to do wellington. This season, no one deserves the restaurant. Now with Louross out, who in this season is the favorite:

Christina - Maybe she is. It was very interesting to see her and Corey work together coming off of in the second elimination Corey was trying to get Christina out.

Corey - I still don't like what she did in the second week but maybe she might be the favorite. She's kind of flown under the radar since then and she actually might be becoming likeable.

Matt - I've already said stuff about him. The sooner he is gone the better this show will be

Jen - See what I said for Matt

Petrosa - I'm not sure why he is still there. He's really quiet, but he is a slop. Do they really want this guy running Ramsey's new restaurant? If he was cleaner, he probably would be the clear favorite because he is likeable.

Bobby - He kind of reminds me of Rock last year. He knows how to cook, but is he really likeable? Given that, he probably has the best chance of all of them on winning this thing and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I really liked the relay challenge, even though I wish there was more time to show it. We really don't get to see the pressure these teams are in, but that challenge was still well conceived.

I really hate that Louross left. There's merit that he couldn't handle it because he doesn't speak up but he isn't worse than Jen. No way and hell.

Jen needs to shut-up. NOW. Someone needs to reach down her throat and rip out her vocal cords. NOW.

Christina? Nice, hot, body. I never knew.

Her and Corey worked real nicely and Matt is just on really borrowed time now.

The previews for "next week" confused me as it showed both footage of them in the black (combined) jackets and the indvidual ones. I suspect that future week's episodes were mixed in there. I wouldn't put it past Fox's promo people.

Overall and meh episode.

But GOD Jen needs to SHUT UP!!!!
