imdb listing
Hellraiser: Revelations (2011) direct-to-video

will be released on DVD in 2011. The storyline:

centers around a dinner party held by one of the families of two late teenage boys who ran away and went missing in Mexico. Strange video footage and items were found at their last known location, but nothing has been heard from them for over a year. The dinner party is filled with tension and strange revelations. But the evening takes an even more bizarre turn when one of the boys—beaten, bloodied, exhausted and terrified—turns up. Relief and joy are mixed with a myriad of questions and concerns and soon a mass of secrets, hidden agendas and evil truths take us on a journey into the bizarre and terrifying world of Pinhead and the Cenobites.

Tunnicliffe says he originally pitched the story as a potential remake following a dream he had, but Dimension went the sequel route again after toying with the idea of a reboot last year.

I loved the 1st two films in the series. Since then, I haven't liked any of them at all and didn't even bother to watch the last couple of them.

I have small hope they can get back on track after so long, but anything is possible.

I am glad they didn't go for the reboot treatment. There is really no point in a series like this, the continuity is at a minimum anyway.

Apparently Doug Bradley turned down the role himself after reading the script.

One assumes he read the script for the last 5 Hellraiser movies too, so that probably means this one is on a whole new level of terrible that even the last 5 movies could not aspire to :wtf:
