Hell on Wheels Season 2 *SPOILERS*

^Yeah. After all, the bad guys often do, especially in a time and place as harsh as that one.
The two main characters survived, Eva and the Irish brothers survived, as did the preacher's daughter--everyone else got screwed.

It was unexpected but it seemed fairly reasonable, considering how completely evil/batshit crazy the Swede had become.

Now we have a clean slate,so to speak, for the main character next season.

What, can't anyone take a "Bad Guy Wins" scenario anymore?
On the other board I did not jump in because of the "Lily is strong women hear her roar" vibe. When just I saw her as a woman prostituting herself just before her death

ANYWAY.... back to the topic at hand.

Next season, there will no doubt be another railroad company man around, probably someone to report back to the home office, and new workers. The Indian battles will still occur and Bohannon will be The Guy In Charge. Will he be up to the task and will the rebuilt Hell on Wheels be any different from the one that burned?

I liked them actually getting more into the politics and logistics of making the Railroad since Cullen is now the boss. I think it was deliberate that they dropped the "Revenge for Dead Wife" thing on his character.

The show is about reconstruction and ambition. For most of the characters, it's about the ambition of rising above your station and gaining power. For Cullen, it's about him rebuilding his life into something again and finding new purpose instead of holding onto the past. His wife and son are dead, and his revenge only caused him more problems. By realizing they ARE dead and revenge won't do anything to change that, and by taking over the Railroad he's rebuilt himself and found a new life for himself.

A friend of my Brothers works behind the scenes on this show, I believe its filmed out side of Calgary AB.

Yep, saw it last night and it was a great start. Was sad to see the new railroad police guy get red-shirted. It was clear that he was put in there to set up a small bit of temporary conflict for Common's character until the polygamists clipped him. He was kind of annoying with all his yapping, but he seemed to have a kind heart and never treated Common with disrespect. His final scene with the baby was quite touching. Very interesting that Colm Meany is still a player, even from jail. Hoping this show will last at least a couple more seasons, although I am really missing Anson Mount's Brit girlfriend. She was a breath of fresh air in a real shitty environment.

^Colm Meaney's character, Mr. Durant, is no longer in prison. He is free as a bird and actively trying to destroy Bohannan's efforts.
