Once, I worked in retail with a Sicilian. He claimed his parents died of "sudden acute lead poisoning".

I hope he was kidding.

Moffat must really love that American diner in Cardiff. He's featured it in a series opener, a series finale AND turned it into a TARDIS exterior!

Moffat just can't seem to kill some characters and it's highly unnlikely IMO that we'll see Ashildr and Clara again since both actors are on other shows.
The Queen Victoria series is only 8-parts, so it's not like it's another long gig like Doctor Who. And Maisie Williams is on Game of Thrones NOW, yet she found time to film 4 appearances (and an upcoming movie). Jenna said she's open to returning, and I'm sure they could get Maisie too if it was a short cameo for Capaldi's departure.

Wasn't Karen Gillan filming Guardians of the Galaxy when she came back to do that little appearance in "Time of the Doctor"? If there's a will, there's a way.

She literally went directly from the airport to the studio, filmed her scene, and went back to the airport and was on the next flight out.

Wow..........That's amazing. Good actor if one can do that.

She didn't have to do much acting in TOTD. Just stood there.

^ Yeah. Put a wig on, touch up your makeup, walk down some stairs and say "Raggedy Man...goodnight." A couple of takes, tops.

But the point is, it's possible as long as the actor is amenable to returning and no bridges have been burned ('ala Eccleston). And as I understand it, the only problem that Capaldi and Jenna had was that they got along TOO well, to the point that it would sometimes interfere with work and they had to be separated.

So far the show has made a point of bringing a lot of actors back. So I fully expect to see Clara and Me again.

If that's true, then their final season arc is even more appropriate.

Jenna said something about it recently in one of her last interviews. Capaldi talked about how well they got along, how they would gossip and joke and how she looked after him when he first arrived, and then Jenna added:

"We actually have to split ourselves up. So sometimes it gets to 10:00 and we've got a little bit too overexcited. So it gets to a point of 'you actually have to go sit over there, and I'm going to sit over there, and we need to not talk, otherwise, come 3:00 we're both going to be so exhausted'."

Capaldi responds, "Yes, that's right. We get giddy with excitement. And we of course think we're both hilarious, but nobody else does."
