He shoots, he scores! [Mild Spoilers]

Nice to see Matt's getting to use his footy skills in his role as the Doctor. Bit like Summer Glau getting to do ballet in the Sarah Connor chronicles (I so nearly wrote the Sarah Jane Adventures then!)

Seems like they're modeling Matt Smith a bit on the Fifth Doctor, as he was kind of a sporting type as well.

Once again this seems to only be an issue with UK viewers. No one outside the UK has any idea who this guy is.
I've noticed that a lot of British people seem to hate most British celebrities with the fiery passion of a thousand burning hells, which I find very odd, to be honest. Just mention Cheryl Cole or Russel Brand and boiling blood starts oozing from their pores, as if these harmless entertainers had somehow harmed them personally.

A lot of Americans are the same way. I suspect a lot of it is jealousy. The only time we ever see these people is onscreen, or at some posh social events, or getting their names in the paper over some rediculous scandal. All will collectign fat paychecks. Most people don't hear about the 14 hour workdays.

That being said, I have no idea who this guy is either, apart from yet another british comedy actor. Story sounds like fun. Can't wait.

You mean episode 11 consists of the Doctor living with a fat idiot for a week? On present day Earth? The amount of possibilities the Doctor Who concept offers, and we get this? I'm probably speaking too soon, and there's a lot more to it. Mind you, previous series' Episode 11s have included Boom Town and Fear Her...
At least Fear Her was set in the past... or the future... was it the one with the faceless people or the Doctor at the Olympics one? Anyway, it wasn't present day. Ish.

I do wish they'd get away from Earth a bit more.

It looks like this will also be the episode with the "homemade" TARDIS console from the Blue Peter competition in it. There're photos out there now of the Doctor wheeling trolleys full of junk up to the house he's living in.

Something in The Doctor's ear. Timelord bluetooth? signal gets a bit fuzzy past Pluto.

Five is Moffat's favorite Doctor, isn't he?

Seeing as how Five ties with Ten as my favorite Doctor, I have absolutely no qualms with all the similarities I've been seeing between Eleven and Five.

So awesome.

More photos here for anyone whose interested.

I like the idea of the Doc playing football.

He plays football too? Soccer, football, what else is he going to play?
It's a British show, remember :borg:

I'm assuming that was tounge-in-cheek. I can picture the doctor kicking around a soccer ball, I certainly can't envision him playing American football!

Picturing him kicking around a soccer ball is easier when there's a picture of him kicking around a soccer ball though. I wouldn't have tried to before, and it does look as ridiculous as I'd suppose.
