Much speculation has taken place if William Shatner is in or not in Star Trek 11.

Information has come along which answers this question which has troubled fans for many weeks.

I will reveal this information in the spoiler below and I urge you not to drag the mouse over it,if you want to be surprised.

Spoiler alert:-

Abrams is shooting TWO versions of the script back to back .One version will have Shatner in it and the 2nd version will not have him in it.This will be a great marketing tool as it will allow the film to recoup twice the amount of money as curious people will flock to see both versions. Thus Abrams is again breaking the mold by not just having a much more dialogue intensive script,he is also using clever marketing techniques to improve the chances for success of the film making money.

This shows his astute awareness of how previous Trek films failed to use publicity in the proper manner. This surprise will allow both fans of Shatner and antifans of Shatner to watch the films and allow double the amount of money in profit and hence allow Star Trek 12 to be made. You may remember other directors have shot films with different endings or back to back, but never in a Trek film which was actually released in both versions. Thus they are correct when they say he is not in it,and in one version he will not be in it.But in the other version he will be in it.

Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
Sorry I don't believe that. It's a horrible idea. At least I'd be very very worried about JJ making the movie. Red Alert

This would never fly. Given "Hollywood accounting," having two versions show at once would divide the receipts (perhaps unevenly), and both films would be considered failures, and there would be no Trek 12.

Plus, it's just a stupid, stupid idea.

Please, if you have any further information about Abrams' cerebral, dialogue intensive film which is also being made as two films, please divulge. :)

Wow, this guy is just full of shit isn't he. That's the third totally unbelieveble topic to date that he has made.

He may have something in that there may be 2 versions of the Script, one with Shatner and one without.
Given the writers strike, it's perfectly conceivable that they have an alternative script that features Shatner, in case they work things out.

Now I don't believe for a minute that J.J. is going to shoot 2 alternative films, but the existence of 2 alternative scripts is possible.

The only way this could work is if Shatner had a very minor role in the film and instead of releasing two versions in the cinema they released they waited until the DVD release and showed the second version (which would just be some different scenes) as an extra. But even if the OP had claimed this I would still have trouble believing it, what would be the point?

Well until i am sitting in the cinema watching the end credits i will be going with Shatner is in it and all this in/out stuff is pure publicity and hype to keep the new movie ticking along in everybody's mind.

Now, MY sources (which communicate with me shortly after my fourth Guinness) tell me he's actually doing FOUR versions at once. The two mentioned above, an ANIMATED version to work in Captain April without affecting live-action canon (featuring cameos by M'Ress and Lt. Arex), and a musical version that will be adapted to go to Broadway if it's successful (where it's already rumored Matthew Broderick will be Kirk).

Sorry if that spoils things for you. But them's the facts as I hear them.

Lolololololol

STARTREK11, you can't even figure out how to put spoilers in correctly. Why in the name of Shatner's Hairpiece would we believe this utter dreck you've been trying to feed us?

All true, except we couldn't afford M'Ress. She's getting too much money posing nude for...well, we'll let that one slide. :o Her part will be also played by Matthew Broderick.

So say we all.
