As a DirecTV subscriber, I have been lucky enough to get an extra 40 HD channels over the past few weeks. One of those coming on line has been the Sci-Fi Channel. So far their true HDTV broadcasts have been frustratingly few. For example, on Monday nights, ENT is letterboxed within a 4:3 frame, so you have this small rectangular box surrounded by black bars on a 16:9 television. You can zoom in but that's not the point. The picture should fill the screen. Their signal is coming into my living room in HDTV but I certainly don't get that with ENT.
On dbstalk.com, the board for these kind of issues, it was stated that HDNet signed an exclusive for HDTV rights for ENT. If that's the case, the Sci Fi Channel can't broadcast ENT in HDTV. Does anybody know if this is true?
