I was at Best Buy yesterday and saw HD/TV receivers the display behind it had an HD/TV Tuners.
I’m just curious as to what is the difference is? The price difference was about $50

the difference is $50 and probably the brand; their function is the same.

an HDTV receiver is something that receives and decodes high definition TV signals. and HDTV tuner is marketed as something that receives and decodes high definition TV signals broadcast over-the-air in parts of Canada, South Korea, Taiwan and the US.

Thank you, they were both same brand, so I take the over the air is more like a satellite type system?

An HDTV with a tuner is able to receive television signals as opposed to simply video signals (i.e., if you don't have a tuner you need some sort of converter box to receive signal be it satellite or cable). With a tuner you can receive CBS, Fox, ABC, NBC and so on without any additional equipment. If it does not have a tuner you can't receive them.

Tuner: If you don't have cable you simply connect your TV to an antenna and you get the channels.

Receivers are "HD Ready", meaning they can display HD pictures but they cannot receive them. Which means you'll either need a cable box to get the HD signals or a set-top box to receive OTA signals from an antenna.

If you have cable an "HD Ready" receiver TV will suit your needs but only so-long as you have cable, if you ever do not have cable you'll need to buy additional equipment to get the HD channels from an antenna.

IMHO, if difference is $50 it's probably worth it to get the tuner just in case there's ever a time you don't have cable.
