HD Retcons

I would have gone all in and done something like this

Non-VFX shot that was changed. There is now a handy red light to alert users to all those instances where time is running backwards, which turns green when time returns to normal.

The number of times when I wished I had such a convenience handy!

I suppose future re-dos will take care of it.
I don't see why. If they didn't change the middle initial of "R." on Kirk's gravestone, I see no reason to change the medical files.
They also looked considerably older than 21 and 23.
Surely they were 21 and 23 when those medical reports were made?
That's how I reconcile it in my ST chronology. It also works nicely with Kirk's line about being worried about Mitchell "ever since that night on Deneb IV," as the file has a description of Mitchell carrying on telepathic conversations with the planet's natives.
Whether it makes perfect sense or absolutely none, keep it in there. Don't go digitally altering stuff for the sake of it, that's revisionism, not restoration which was the goal of the remastering project. Changing small things like that is opening a can of worms which should be kept shut.
Exactly. At least the Trek people had the sense to keep the originals available in a high-quality form, unlike what George Lucas did when he revamped Star Wars. I've never been comfortable with the rewriting-history aspect of plopping in new effects. Art is a product of its time, and it should be looked at in that context.
Oddly, Gary Mitchell is stated in Who's Who in Star Trek #2 to be from Van Nuys, California. Eldman isn't mentioned at all in his entry.
Gary Lockwood was born in Van Nuys, so that's a tribute to him.

Also, the Chonometer's numbers (as pictured above) are not on Numerical Roller Wheels, unlike the original TOS Enterprise bridge Chronometers. ;)

Yeah, but I understand that. Those old electromechanical starships with the scoring reels are way more likely to tilt than your modern solid-state ships with dot-matrix displays. Even if I do think they're more fun.

Real life is fill of actual data which sound awkward or clunky. A place name not sounding appealing is no reason to reach back into Trek history and alter it. Janeway's name always bothered me, but I'd never ask anyone to alter it even if that were possible and easy. And Janeway is an actual family name. Trek information should be set in stone, unless it creates impossible contradictions, and even then perhaps should not be changed.

Those old drum chronometers also made it a lot easier for dishonest used-starship dealers to roll back the flight hours!
