Actually, it's more like four-and-a-half times higher resolution.

These screencaps are nothing short of breathtaking. It's like seeing Star Trek again for the first time. Nichelle Nichols looks smokin' hot at 1440 x 1080! And the CGI Enterprise looks terrific... for some reason what looked cartoonish downrezzed to blurry standard definition for syndicated broadcast looks boffo in full HD. Go figure!

I may have to rethink not buying these. Thanks for posting this! :thumbsup:

They never changed enough in this episode in my personal opinion, but what WAS altered looked really good and in hindsight I'm satisfied.

I still wish they had morphed the salt creature's transformations in order to stabilize the backgrounds and landmarks and make everything look far smoother, but whaddya gonna do. They had their reasons.

What's funny about the shot of the Enterprise with the Antares in the Charlie X caps is how great the Enterprise looks and how crap the Antares looks. The it's a like a Playstation 2 game object by comparison...and the textures are low-res and fuzzy.

It does look rather like the ship's name is written on the forward module in red script, much like the Galileo.
