Elsie was the answer to one of the clues in today's New York Times crossword! She might be dead but she'll never be forgotten! :D

I was pretty sad to hear about this, I didn't realize the town set had been around for so long. It will be interesting to see how the show handles it's loss.

Take a look at it - they can probably afford to rebuild as much of it as they decide they need. A western town represents probably the most basic materials and construction that studio carpenters ever do.

They specifically said that there will be very little of Westworld in the upcoming season...

I've just started this and so far it's interesting... Season 1 seems to rate better with people then season 2. Was there a problem with season 2?

Oh and organic robots. That's some advanced shit. How far in the future is this? Is it set on Earth or off world?

It seems to be very near future.

I don't know the robots seem like something beyond present day.

And most of the rest of the world does not.

There have been onscreen timestamps, historical date references etc. that put it in the 2050s.

OK that's not that far into the future I guess.

Most of the show's events (in both flashback and "real-time") cover a time span from 2015 to 2052, with only the final scene of the Season 2 finale (which I won't spoil) taking place in an indeterminate time period.

Well so far I'm near the middle of season 1 and enjoying it. I just don't get the negativity season 2 generated.

I may end up liking season 2 as well.

A lot of stuff did change in Season 2, but I still really enjoyed it.

I personally enjoyed season 1 better. The story was a bit easier to follow and was pretty unique. Season 2 felt needlessly confusing for the sake of being 'unique'. I mean, I like a good complicated plot as much as anyone, but sometimes I really felt like I needed to be writing things down in S2. I enjoyed it overall, but felt it was a bit heavy handed in trying to top itself in non-traditional complicated storytelling.

Season 2 disappeared up its own pretentious ass. That's what I found wrong with it.

Well there was a rumour that it was the writers fault for season 2 because reddit kept predicting what would happen so the writers said "fuck it" and made the season confusing on purpose.

S2 was not as good or unique as S1, but still far better than any other sf on television.
