I don't get this. So they had good things in the past, wow.

NBC used to be the number one network and now they have to fight for 3rd place and almost came in last to CW one hour.

Why is that hard to understand? It's what of HBO I've seen and liked, but I haven't seen anything from Showtime that has interested me. Isn't that the question?

I think the question is talking about currently. No one really cares about how great Larry Sanders and Odyssey Five used to be back in the day.

Then I guess I'm the only one who read the original post because Messianni refers to both and is not exclusive. *shrug*

You were right EMH, I meant overall, thus my mention of shows such as Six Feet Under, which has been done for three years. HBO has a much better history of quality programming, a trend I don't see subsiding any time soon.

It's tough because I love shows on both. But HBO, past and present, has far, far more shows that I love: Sex and the City, Carnivale, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Big Love, Entourage. On Showtime, I really love both The Tudors and Dexter. Not that I can afford to subscribe to either  , but I'd probably go with HBO given the choice.

Had to go with Showtime. I've watched more shows made by Sho.

HBO brought the world the Sopranos, but Showtime also brought the world Stargate SG-1. I'm torn, but in the end, I went with HBO.
