Haywire star wants to play Wonder Woman

I disagree, given what a Wonder Woman would be called to do on screen...but I would even take a greek statue over a modern pretty pencilstick.
That's what SFX and stunt people are for. The actress doesn't have to actually lift cars, punch holes in walls and defeat men twice her weight.

No, but as I've been arguing about the choices for Superman, it might be nice if, for once, her portrayer looked like she could.
Honestly, I don't think there's anyway that someone could convince a a major studio to go with one of the body builder women you posted pictures of as a female lead, even if she is playing WW.
As for what WW should look like, I don't really see any reason for her to have to look like a body builder. She's a superhero, she doesn't need to look super strong for her to be super strong. When I think of WW Gina Carano is pretty close to the kind of body type I imagine.

I know that. All I've said is that I'd like to see them try it. Just once. Of course they won't.

But it would be a nice change of pace. At the very least it would nice to see a fitness model given the role.

Which is just what I said in my initial post in this thread! The thread is "Haywire star wants to play Wonder Woman" and I said I thought she fit the part, and then I'm fielding arguments like "grace" and "greek statue" and that there are things she doesn't "need" to be.

This is not about necessity. This about aesthetics. I want to see a Wonder Woman with more muscle tone than Rachel Zoe, whether there's a practical need for it or not. Will I? Of course not, like you said. that doesn't change the desire.
