Excellent call. A vast improvement over their first attempt.
Hmmm, the villain has spiked my interest...
So far, 5 minutes into it, it seems to be a pretty serious take on it rather than a campy/jokey take on it.

The psycho ring tone is a nice touch. I should do that for when my ex calls me.
That car stunt was cool.
I've just watched half an hour, a half hour wasted I'll never get back. It's all testosterone and "hip" and attitude. The characters are "here we go again I've seen them seemingly everywhere before." How NuMcGarrett gets his job is bullshit and lacks credibility.
Five-0 TOS was a cool show. This is the grunge version.

^^ I don't think you will ever find a 60's show revival you like.

I agree, and it's not a bad show so far. But I still say it's quite a deviation from the original. The dynamic between McGarrett and Williams is WAY wrong. Perhaps eventually their relationship will evolve into more familiar territory as the series progresses.
And while I'm enjoying it, I can't completely disagree with Warped's view on it either. It strikes me as another show that maybe they should have made, but just not called it Hawaii 5-0 and not had the characters with those names. It's SO far from the original that I don't think anyone could have accused it of being a ripoff had they done that.
Whatever. I make no apologies for not being impressed with something all flash and no meat.
