Thanks, I hadn't seen that promo clip. Hard to tell what to expect based on it. Eric Balfour seems to have a bit of flair - my hunch is that a lot of the interest and charm for the show.

Syfy doesn't have the greatest track record with me. I mostly just continue watching Stargate Universe and Merlin out of habit and morose fascination, and Merlin (the better of the two--particularly for its inclusion of Anthony Stewart Head) isn't even produced by Syfy.

I do enjoy Eureka, though. I didn't think of that one at first, but that's only because it's been a while since a new episode aired.

Sounds like a paranormal version of Eureka just from the description alone.

Hopefully it will be a bit harder-edged and less "charming and quirky." Warehouse 13 and Eureka are just too lightweight for me. I don't mind shows that are a bit lightweight, but not to the degree those shows are.

Well, given that it's based on a Stephen King book, I suspect it will be more creepy than charming.

It's funny, though, that they aren't really stressing the King connection in the promos.
