I liked it from the first time I saw it.
Good to hear!:techman: at first I was dissapointed they didn't try something more ''radical'' in design, but now I REALLY do love this ship! I really can't wait till I finally get this in model kit form.( R2 release early or summer 2010)

I was very unsure at first. But now I LOVE it.

I think behind the TMP refit, it's my favorite.

I'm sort of "Eh. It's the Enterprise, the only one in town. Okay."

I still would have preferred a "New Voyages" approach, where everything looked the same as TOS.

Hey, you asked.

At least they left open the possible explanation on why things look different in the new timeline, namely that the Kelvin was destroyed. (Who knows what effect that would have had on how tech develped over the next 25 years?)

Of course, as I've mentioned elsewhere, the Kelvin and some of the tech seen on it may have already been too advanced for the "real" Trek universe of that era; this may be a parallel universe to begin with (yes...I'm sounding like a broken reccord...get used to it *grin*).

Again, if so, eh. It's still Star Trek, and if this is how the Enterprise looks in this timeline or reality, I guess that's how it looks.

The curves on the pylons make it look a little weak to me, tho'. Maybe there'll be a change or two before XII? At least they could separate the nacelles from each other a bit more.

Eh,I won't lie.I thought the ship was butt ugly when the leaked shots came out.The subtle curves and the way the whole ship is given its size, its replaced the Sovereign Enterprise as my favorite 'model'.

Yes I like it. I think it's retro enough to the TOS that it makes me happy and modern enough to look good in 2009.

They did a wonderful job.

I have to admit when I first saw it I didn't like it too much. Now, after seeing the film again, I LOVE IT.

I'm more into not liking it. It looked far better in motion. As a design, it's....eh. It's boring in its own way.

When I first saw it, I hated it. Now I like it enough that it is my current desktop wallpaper, and I've actually got the Playmates version sitting above my TV! :)

I like it, but I have some issues about it. Still, she's grand and I can accept her as the Big E. I like her better than the Enterprise-C and E for sure.

When we got that first picture I was a bit frowny about the aesthetics - and I still don't like the way she looks in that picture - but I said at the time that I'd probably think it would look great on the big screen and from different angles. And I did!

:D

I was disappointed with the first photos, but it has grown on me incredibly. It's to the point now that I think the refit's nacelles look a bit undersized and the original 1701's look too far apart. It's mind-boggling.

Shes a real beaut though cannot decide if I like her more than the TMP refit ;) I saw a great model for £25 when I was down Derby 2 weeks ago, almost brought it.

Still might ;)

I agree...the first pic they released ( which is the same as the first time we see it in space in the film) was not the most forgiving angle.

I think it's butt-ugly. The neck is too far back, they pumped the nacelles full of steriods to make it look 'meaner', and the nacelles are too close together. There was something very graceful about the TOS and refit both; the refit, especially, looks like it descends from a lineage of sea-yachts. The new one just looks brutish.
