Have you named your child after a sci fi character?

I was in the comic shop last month, and a guy was in there with his 4-year-old son. When they left he said "Come on, Logan."
The shop owner said they get a lot of Logans in there.
But are they named after Wolverine or LOGAN'S RUN?
Yeah, I know, I'm showing my age here . . . .
If they have a little sister named Ororo, that's the clincher!
My sons Worf and Garak are very happy with their names.
my next child will be named Rook if it's a girl after Rook Bartley from Robotech. I was going to with Rand for a boys name also from Robotech but I am going to go with Ender. Ender will definitely get him laid.
Just wait until number three, "Colonial Marine," comes along.
I mentioned Rook and Rand earlier. Love those names.
Rand works doubly for me, too - Robotech and maps (since I make maps for a living).
My wife and I are naming our little girl Ainsley after the West Wing character.
^Well, I suppose one could consider The West Wing science fiction, since it's kind of an alternate history.
A former boyfriend of mine had a nephew called Leto who I believed was named after a character from Dune. I have never read the book so I am unsure if the character was worthy of having a child named after him or not - maybe someone could tell me.
Well, Frank Herbert didn't invent the name Leto. It's actually a name from Greek mythology, except there it's female, a goddess who was the mother of Artemis and Apollo. It's also an Italian surname; the earliest person of that name listed in Wikipedia is Giulio Pomponio Leto, a 15th-century humanist philosopher.
I am sure that all that is true. However, without a doubt, the child concerned was named after the character from Dune which is why I asked about what sort of character he was.
Well, you said before that you "believed" he was named for Duke Leto, which suggested that you weren't certain.
The uncle told me that the boy was named after a character from a sci-fi novel his sister had read but he didn't know the name of the book. The reason I said 'I believe' is because I can't say I am 100% certain that the name Leto hasn't appeared in any other sci-fi novel but if it was another sci-fi book it must be an rather obscure one.
Okay, in that case, it probably was Dune. Leto as a male given name isn't something I can ever recall coming across outside that series.

I think if I had a son I would be tempted to name him James with Tiberius as the middle name. But I still think Zefram is the most awesome Trek name for a boy. Suits the names used nowadays too.

My best friend has a son named Anakin James after Anakin Skywalker and James Bond.
