Have you ever won a raffle?

I once won first prize in my son's school's Easter Raffle. The prize was a basket full of easter eggs and other chocolates.

I also won a food processor in one raffle (i think it was second prize). When I received the letter I phoned the organisers up and told them I already had a food processor so they let me take $40 in cash instead.

I also won a meat raffle which included 2 chickens and a side of lamb. As I didn't have a freezer I kept what I could store in my fridge and gave the rest to one of my neighbours.

The only one I've won something from was a fundraiser for a rival school. I only bought a set of tickets to be polite and ended up with a DVD I was going to buy anyway.. so pretty good result getting it significantly cheaper.

Yeah I won tickets to Turtles III when I was a kid. Back then that was awesome, now I'm not longer so sure. Poor dad that had to tag along with me and sis

I haven't ... but when I was around 12 years old, my father won this raffle, it included 2 bikes, and loads of other stuff. A long time ago now.

I won £15 in a raffle when I was 13. The mysterious thing was that I somehow "knew" I was going to win it.

I haven't (unless you count door prizes at an event). I've benefitted from a raffle win, though. Several years ago my mother won a week at a condo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in a raffle, so we were able to take a fairly cheap vacation. To offset my good fortune, I got an unexpected mid-Summer case of strep throat at the same time.

I won an iPod Shuffle at a product show at work a couple of years ago. I've never actually used it, though. As soon as I brought it home, my wife started using it and it's been hers ever since.

I won a cassette deck once which is all fine and good, but it was 1998.

... no wait, I remember entering one back when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I won a Sony Walkman, which was kind of cool. Coincidentally enough, my mum won a nice bottle of fizz on the same day.

won some boyscout raffles, and the local elementary school is having one that I'm in, first prize is an ATV, second is a 42 inch flatscreen

I won a ticket to ride the first train from the new railway station that opened in my town when I was about 12. There were 5 of us from a 4 schools totalling about 1000 students from the surrounding area.

I think that's the only raffle I ever won, unless you count the £6.70 I won on Euromillions when the jackpot was utterly ridiculous about 3 years ago (only time I ever played the lotto, and it paid for the ticket and a beer, so not all bad...)
