Seeing as the thrill of the first few days is dying down a bit, I thought I'd ask you this question:

Have you changed your opinion yet?

And, if so, what caused the change?

Personally, I still love the movie. I do recognize there are a few weak points here and there, but that doesn't detract of the fact that it has entertained me very well.

Same here. I still like it. Went and saw it again for a second time during lunch.

I still really like the film. I would have gone to see it a second time yesterday, but I had to take my mother out to lunch for Mother's Day.

Every major motion picture has "weak points." And, so far, I haven't read a negative review that doesn't:

A. Try to irrationally compare major Star Trek scenes to plot devices in Star Wars.

B. Uses their review of Star Trek to frame a larger societal/cultural critique, failing to actually review the movie on its merits/achievements.

Yeah, after the thrill of seeing the original crew again has gone, I can't say I like the film at all anymore. Too many plot holes, too much lazy writing.

My feelings are mixed, as they were after my first viewing. But my opinion seems to be settling into "it was fun, amazing, loud, shiny, enjoyable, energetic, funny, tragic and charming, without somehow being all that good." Ah well. Them's the breaks.

My opinion remains the same. I love this movie, and the thrill has not worn off. I will be seeing it again this week.

my opinion has changed. i thought it was good, now i realise with the stupid science and the stupid plot development it's actually crap.

My opinion hasn't changed. I still enjoy it. I will likely see it again this week. The only real test is if it is a sturdy enough movie for me to enjoy seeing multiple times. Some films I like are, some aren't.

I love the movie. I think I love it even more with each viewing. I must say I was really pleasantly surprised by this film, I wasn't really expecting it to blow me away, and yet it did.

The thrill has definitely worn off for me. I suppose I still think it's an okay movie, but after thinking about it all weekend, I realized there were a lot of stupid things that happened in this movie. Still it was fun seeing Nimoy and I enjoyed Urban's performance. Hopefully now that they've got the origin stuff behind us, maybe the next one will have a better story.

I've only seen the film once, that was yesterday. All I can say so far is that I woke up this morning thinking about it; I was still emotionally hyped walking into work and so far I still love it. I hope it lasts because I want to keep on loving it.

Me too. I wouldn't be dragging my 62 y.o. mom (the one who got me hooked on Trek back in '72) along with me if it wasn't worth seeing again.

Is it OK that I am perfectly capable of recognizing the film's shortcomings and still think it freaking rules to the point of potentially being the best Trek movie ever?

No, still like it. Will probably still like it when I see it tomorrow for the fifth time... :D
I'm having a hard time convincing my wife to see it with me again (her fourth, my fifth). I may have to go alone!
