Wouldn't Gridman be a better fit for the Ultraman thread, since it's Tsuburaya-produced and sort of an Ultraman variant?
Congrats! You deserve it!The folks at GraphicAudio just let me know that my tokusatsu-themed audionovel/drama Tangent Knights 1: Caprice of Fate has just won the AudioFile Earphones Award! Their review is here:
https://www.audiofilemagazine.com/reviews/read/203852/
An excerpt: “Talented GraphicAudio narrators imbue believability by creating accents for the polyglot characters of futuristic New Avalon… This is an aural treat for sci-fi fans everywhere.”
According to AudioFile’s Earphones Awards page, “The award is given by AudioFile to truly exceptional titles that excel in narrative voice and style, characterizations, suitability to audio, and enhancement of the text.” That’s quite an honor.
Power Rangers Dino Fury brings another historic first to the Power Rangers franchise!
The Dino Fury series has been nominated for a GLAAD Media award- a celebration of representation & inclusion in media for LGBTQ persons or issues- in the category of Outstanding Kids & Family Programming.
This GLAAD nomination for the character of Izzy Garcia, the first confirmed LGBT+ character in Power Rangers, hopefully represents the beginning of a more open & inclusive Ranger era.
Congratulations to actress Tessa Rao and the entire Dino Fury team!
New Rumor has popped up, please take with a grain of salt as it's probably fake, but you know doesn't hurt to discuss:
Prior to transforming (i.e. Avatar Changing) our heroes are all humans:
-Don Momotaro is an Ikemen High School Student
-OniSister is a Beautiful College Student
-SaruBrother is a Wild-Looking Oyaji (Old Man)
-InuBrother is an Elementary School Student
-KijiBrother is a Senior Citizen
If true it would sort of be like a family dynamic minus the mother
Red = oldest son, Yellow= older daughter, Blue=Father, Pink=Grandfather, and black=youngest sibling.
Kotaro wasn't bad in Kyuranger. I haven't heard people talk bad about him. He wasn't annoying etc etc
I'm more worried about having a Senior Citizen as part of the team. That would make more sense than having two characters be CGI all the time. I mean, Zenkaiger has Cutanner and Ricky, but they're hardly ever in more than a minor supporting role. If these two main characters were CGI all the time, as opposed to suit actors, then less screen time could be devoted to them compared to the other three.
Though it'd be weird to have a team with a child and two older men. And I wasn't fond of either Kou in Dairanger or Justin in Power Rangers Turbo, so the idea of another child Ranger doesn't appeal to me.

WTF?
I hope they're in a mentor role and not an active ranger. What's wrong with that? Yatsude in Zenkaiger is great. And a number of Sentai teams have had older mentors that sometimes got in on the action, like Mondo in GoGoV or the grandfather in Ninninger.
I hope they're in a mentor role and not an active ranger.
If they need to get in on the action, it's generally alot safer to leave the battles to the younger generation.
How many elderly Martial Arts Master Sensei's exist out there compared to regular folks who are non combatants?Oh, come on. There's a whole recurring character type in Japanese fiction of the elderly sensei who's still a better fighter than his younger charges, e.g. the aforementioned grandfather in Ninninger. After all, martial arts keeps you strong and limber, so you stay healthier as you age. Plus the attitude in Japanese culture and fiction is that the most important thing is training and hard work, so the more decades of training and discipline you accumulate, the better you get. For that matter, there are plenty of older actors still playing action leads in American movies, like Samuel L. Jackson or Bruce Willis.
Besides, in action, he'd turn into a CGI character anyway, so what difference does it make?

Hardwork & Training will get you very far, but there is something to be said about Age & Youth.
While that's true, basic logic should still apply. You're making a generalization, which doesn't make sense in this context. Fiction is not about average people, it's about exceptional ones.
I don't really have a choice; we're going to have to wait and see anyways, regardless of how I feel about it.And again, they'll be morphed for most of the action scenes, so what the hell difference does it make? It's bizarre that you're so hostile to this. You don't even know if it's really happening yet, and if it is, you don't know who the actor is and how well he might be able to pull it off. What's so horrible about just waiting to see before you judge?
