Has 'The Cage' Remastered been aired?

Correct. This one is the 1964 version, or more specifically, the original Paramount VHS and first generation DVD version of the pilot.

Well I will keep it anyways as it would be a great comparison piece to the remastered version when that comes out.

True. And since the Remastered "Menagerie" episodes have already done some of the Okuda team's work for it ahead of time it probably won't take that much work to finish the new CGI opticals.

I saw the theatrical showing of the remastered "Menagerie" last year, which showed a "How We Did IT" intro, which showed the new, full opening zoom-into-the-bridge-dome shot, which is outstanding & very fluid, as well as some nice new planet orbital shots. So yes, I'm sure all the new FX are done for "The Cage" by now, and they are just holding off its release, my guess, until close to the release of the (I hope) Blu-Ray 3-season boxed set, ...which I assume will be released in coordination with the new movie next May (way too long a wait for me).

I hate how the syndicated "Menagerie" Remastered cut out some shuttlecraft scenes with Kirk and Mendez, reducing the number of all-new CGI shots we were able to watch.

All those older shows get cut to pieces when they're crammed into present-day timeslots. I'm waiting for the DVDs.

And the odd and funny thing is, part of a shot cut out for syndication is used for one of the musical title cards when TOS-R goes to its first set of commercials(the zoom-in on Kirk aboard the Starbase 11 shuttle as he and Mendez realize they have only so much air and fuel left).
