Has anyone looked for easter eggs in the opening credits?

I'll preface this by saying I watch DSC on my iPhone, so I have a hard time reading the little text bits in the opening sequence of DSC. Maybe someone with a better screen can examine them.

I have a hard time believing all the characters are random. I have a suspicion that some of the numbers and text in the sequence probably got purposefully selected by the VFX people (that's what I would do). I see a number of geographic coordinates. There are also bits of handwritten text I cannot make out. I am very curious what they say.

I did enter the lat/lon coords from the space plant sequence (as best I could squint them out) and it was a farmer's field in Russia. I could have misread the numerals however.

I keep thinking the last shot showing an arrow head going into, what looks like, a tear in the fabric of space is a Tholian ship crossing universes -- like in The Tholian Web.

They're Time Crystals for the first two seasons, then change color and become Dilithium Crystals. Simple as that.

And the use of Pike's Enterprise command chair in S3 credits is foreshadowing of the centrally relevant fact that there's this small but well-known burr below the left armrest.

the creator disagrees.

The creator isn't canon. Simple as that.

(Although yes, "the creator disagrees" is what generally happens in Trek. Since generally, he or she disagrees with the previous creator, what's the point of listening? She or he will be gone in a few years anyway. Trek endures.)

They changed their mind. It was dilithium, but they retconned it upon the introduction of time crystals and further upon the sudden plot relevance of the dilithium supply.

This would be the time to cite your sources ;)

direct me to where that shows what you claim.

Two things that look identical (crystals from intro and time crystals from show) are meant to be the same thing. I don't know what more you want from me.

The time crystals in the intro to the first two seasons was a neat easter egg, finally revealed upon their introduction to the main narrative in Through the Valley of Shadows, just like the DOT-23s in the Season 3 intro are finally gaining relevance now.

The show doesn't acknowledge the intro, because the intro is something that exists outside of it for our entertainment. It's up to us to recognize the DOT-23s, the wormhole, time crystals, the Vulcan salute, etc. Even if they remain forever unnamed, we know what they are, because we see them in the show.

S1 and 2 had the same crystals, so where does the intro show they "changed their mind. It was dilithium, but they retconned it"?

Through the Valley of Shadows, when they designed the time crystals to be identical to the intro crystals.

Season 3 solidifies this, by reintroducing dilithium crystals both in the intro and the show that are different in appearance than the time crystals from the S1 and 2 intro.

how are these designs identical?
